...that tomorrow, Russell Wilson is going to take the first step on the path towards legendary. There is so much good karma surrounding this guy. The leadership, his work ethic, the fact he picked the Seahawks name out of a hat before the draft, the good will visits to the Children's Hospital, the humbleness and genuine manner of his character, his decency, his respect for the game. I watched the video the other day of when he organized the off-season workouts last April in Hermosa Beach, California, and it just reminded me of how he has galvanized this team.

I think his Dad is going to reach down from heaven and push his son to the ultimate heights tomorrow. I think we will see some great plays from #3.

I know it sounds corny, but I think Wilson has been on a journey for a long time with the destination a Super Bowl ring. And I think it comes tomorrow.

I think he will, too.

But still, I'm not stepping on any cracks in the sidewalk or gazing into the eyes of any black cats until the game's finished.

Damn you IG, get me all teary eyed while I'm half-hungover on saturday morning before the SB, thats BS!
He's a short little QB in a popsickle stick & tape offense who's got a long ways to go to master this game.
Don't mess with me man, I'm barely hangin' in there as it is. :o

I hear ya bro. I figure it'll be an epic game with all of it's biggest stars having epic games. Peyton to have his usual great game, but matching his 3-4 TD's with an equal amount of INT's by the Legion. Beast will be beastly, especially in the second half, and DangerRuss will have another last minute game winning TD earning the MVP :)

I told my wife a couple nights ago that I just had a feeling that Wilson will do something that no QB has ever done in a SB before, not sure what it is, or how obscure it will be, but I have been getting those vibes for the better part of the week, maybe it is zero incompletions, or the highest passer rating, most rushing TD's or something else, not sure why that feeling is so strong, but it is there, and undeniable. Maybe it is the never get flustered ( although to be fair late in the Niners game is the first time he looked "nervous" to me) attitude he has, or the DESIRE to play big in the biggest moments, but something about that kid just oozes out of him........ will be fun to see.

I have contemplated the same thing. Wilson is such a good guy and so genuine if anyone deserves blessings it is him. But beyond that hes damn good. Pundits focus on his 170 ypg average and his lack of relative production over the past 6 games. Also they harp on his TD to turnover ratio. They forget 1 of his picks was a hail mary and another was a horrible call on the throw to Baldwin vs AZ. The fumble vs Frisco was an inch from being a big play. But he throws it on a dime when the game is on the line.

Ive had a feeling he is due to go off and he understands the moment is tomorrow. Denver players were chirping about facing scrambling QB's 5 times this year and I'm trying to figure out exactly who they were. I know they haven't seen a cat like RW. Its his time.

Up until tomorrow we can all say, "remember the time when Russell Wilson outplayed Tom Brady? (The U mad Bro game) or when he outplayed Drew Brees?" (Our first matchup with them this year, he badly outplayed him.)
Two of the leagues best QB's and Wilson outplayed them both.
After tomorrow, we'll be able to say, "Remember how in his first two season Russell Wilson outplayed three of the greatest QB's to ever play the game, in some of the biggest moments, including the Superbowl?"

I guess I really don't keep track, my brother in law calls me "nostra-roach-is" due to my ability to "call" things as they occur, not just the play ( ie strip sack, pick six, or fumble etc) but the player to do it ( for instance I called the Sherman tip to pick last game, though to be fair I did not say Smith was going to get it, the strip sack by Irvin two seasons ago ago, Sherman's pick six against Houston this season, Irvins strip sack against the Panthers to seal the game, Browners 97 yard int return against the Giants, along with a lot of others), not saying I am even 60% accurate, or that I am dead on with before game predictions, wife is convinced I am "touched" with that kind of stuff ( always trying to "send" me stuff, like what to have for dinner, or pick this up, LOL).

Did have recurring nightmares about being on a plane flying between buildings on a bright sunny day for 3 years at least 3 or 4 times a week prior to 9/11, and one about bombs in the Subway for a couple months before the explosion that followed in England. Not sure man, been going on a long time. Used to dream about EVERY major "ding" I took when I played. After a while it just becomes regular life. Make fun of me if you all want. Not professing it as "fact" that it WILL happen, just know to trust my gut, and those around me in my day to day life know to do the same.

Hell, maybe it is bad wiring, or residual CTE.........LOL

Much respect HC, I find it quite interesting and I do believe that our brains are wired differently for different people, which allows some to be geniuses, others to be able to "feel" things, and others to hear things or dream things.
I too have some of these feelings. But I can't put my finger on it. I tend to see things long term. Five to Ten years. But again, just as to myself, not anything else. I used to feel in my dream major earthquakes 24hrs before they happened. Then that stopped. Weird stuff.

When I was 13 & 14 I had epilepsy with grand mal siezures, visions, like a bad acid trip. Vivid colors, outlandishly loud sound, visions so real and mindblowing. One of the worst ones was of a multitude of Indians dressed to the hilt in green & blue feathers, war dancing beneath totem poles with drums banging unbearably loud.
When the siezures first started they took me to Seattle, shaved my head & put all those electrodes on me. I grew out of it and in 76', my grandad let me drink whiskey & beer at the age of 16, I could hold my own cuz the discontinued medications had 'conditioned' me.

I remember the first time I saw the Seahawks uniforms and the first game I saw in the Kingdome with the Seahawk logo, all the green & blue and the mega noise and thinking, this is from my vision when i was a kid.

Individual matchups (aside from Peyton Manning) are in our favor. If the Giants could ground the undefeated Patriots and the Bucs and Titans (despite losing) could ground the Greatest Show on Turf, and the Falcons could ground the 1998 (Moss, Carter, Jake Reed, Robert Smith) Vikings... Why not us?

Let's get it done.

Greg,

I get it. Sometimes I think Wilson is a gift for all of the awful crap this team has endured for the last 37 years. He's a Godsend. Wilson may truly be one of those guys who actually breaks the mold, or more specifically, shatters it. He's got one of those insane personalities that people gravitate towards. What's truly insane to me, is Pete Carroll is that same manifestation in a different vessel. Having two of these type of ultra rare human beings on the same team may equate to something that has never been seen before in professional sports.

Man, you can practically taste the anticipation now.

It's a beautiful, sunny day down here in CA (60 degrees), and not a 49er fan in sight, lol.

That's because it's ALL About the Seahawks this Sunday.

I also gotta a good feeling on this one.

Mental toughness
Focus
Leadership

The list can go on and on, but those are the intangibles this team has demonstrated all year.

I just see us taking the Lombardi. We overcame a lot against a better (defensive, anyway) team a couple of weeks ago, and I see good things for both RW & Beast Mode.

Go Seahawks!!!

It started 2 days ago. I was just going through my day, not thinking about anything football related, when a feeling of unadulterated joy welled up inside me. I knew the Seahawks would win this game. I don't know why or how this happened, but it has happened 3 or 4 times since then too. I can't explain it but I just feel it through & through. I don't have a history of being clarvoyant or anything like that, but I just keep getting these completely overwhelming sensations about the Seahawks winning this game. It's really wierd but awesome at the same time.

Take the Seahawks on the money line. It will pay a bit more than a straight bet. The prop bets are fun but dont invest a lot in them. Just load up on the Seahawks.

You know I did not think about this before.

Regarding Richard Sherman's post NFC championship rant.

Most NFL players would be so happy at this moment - smiles, high fives & hugs - Not Sherman - take another look:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bkTq__jd4I4

Here is what is now more cognizant to me - Richard Sherman just made the play of his life to help the Seahawks win the NFC Championship.

Yet Look at him - Richard is Not the Least Bit Satisfied with this Accomplishment- Richard and the entire team are still Hungry for the ultimate win.

I felt the same impression from the entire hawks team this week - no satisfaction from what they have accomplished - only a remaining hunger that can only be satisfied by a Super Bowl Victory.

You forgot one thing: Russell Wilson takes his first step on the path towards legendary while leading the Seahawks to their first ever Super Bowl win.

The team comes first. IMO it doesn't mean a God damn thing to me if Russell puts up 500 yards and 6 TD passes if it's in a losing effort.

Understood. I should have said that I was adding to a very elegant, appropriate comment and wanted to make sure that we are all keeping our eyes on the prize so I simply tagged my comments onto yours. The bold print probably wasn't necessary.

I love Russell Wilson as much as any player to have donned a Seahawks jersey since Largent hung his up, but it pales in comparison to my love for the team as a whole. I'm all about winning.

Irish Greg 2.0 wrote:...that tomorrow, Russell Wilson is going to take the first step on the path towards legendary.

Can't agree more, there is something truly special about RW, yet more importantly this team as a whole. It doesn't solely depend on any key player, which has been shown time and time again during his "off" games (especially lately). The Colts showed otherwise when Manning wasn't at the helm, the team collapsed.

Makes me wonder where we'd be with Flynn right now, how would this team would play out. What would our record be?

Anyway, I have this deep gut feeling that tomorrow Wilson will pour the foundation of becoming the greatest QB in Seahawks history. He will need to prove it over the next few years, to cure the cement, but it really does seem like "fate". He belongs here and can very well set a dynasty...just as Manning has.

Go Wilson, make us proud. Go Hawks!

We have all seen Russell Wilson make some dazzling plays in his two short years, today the whole country is going to see him do the things we all saw him do before Pete put the cuffs on him.

It seems like yesterday that some were saying that RW would have a sophomore slump. HA HA not a chance!! Save that sophomore slump for guys like Cam and Kap. Oh, and I realize Kap was in his 3rd. pro year but lets be honest, essentially this was his second year as a starter so this was his sophomore year, and he CHOKED!!!

Does he have computer elements? He does not make mistakes. Is that normal? Is there a scandal here?

Glad he's ours.

I have never seen a guy like him. I have no idea who taught him to have such poise and skill and smarts. Not easy. He said his father took him out at 5am to throw catch with the football and baseball and it was a serious practice. He grew up on the East Coast in Virginia I believe. And his wife is right behind him as well, kudos to her for helping him grow. Not as if she has anything contrary to say. He is religious so he respects his wife. We must remember that he answers to a higher calling, which so happens to be winning the SB. No problems with that one.

Oh, he makes mistakes, alright. But he learns from them, and you don't often see him make the same one twice. He has his limitations, but he mitigates them and never plays above them.

The only mistake I saw that he even came close to making last night, at least any visible to me, was the roll out to the left where he flicked the ball forward and didn't quite get the ball to the LOS and could have been called for grounding. But even that turned out to be an unwarranted concern as there was a receiver in the area, and his quick thinking saved us 15 yards and would have killed a drive. Even if he would have gotten called for the grounding, it was a good gamble as not throwing it would have had almost as bad a consequences as taking the sack.

Russell played well enough and had good enough numbers to win the SB MVP, but they were obligated to give it to someone on the defensive side of the ball, and rightfully so.

RD-
That was a very insightful post....I know how much this means to you and others like us who have waited 37 years for this to happen. To be a charter member of this fan base, & to witness what occurred yesterday is a BIG EFFIN DEAL! Those of you who have been dedicated fans for lesser amounts of time, please don't misunderstand this post. It is something special to be a hawks fan no matter how long you've been aboard. But it's been a LONG ROAD for those of us who've been walking it since day one. To be a part of that group is something worth mentioning.
BTW, dog, This is as shining an endorsement as I've ever seen you give RW. Could it be that he's winning you over? Have a big drink Riverdog ol' buddy, the kool-aid tastes great!
