Not enough has been made of the degree of difficulty with which this championship was won. Has a number one seed trod a tougher road to Superbowl Champion? In 2005, the Seahawks played Washington, Carolina, and and the Stealers. I love that the Seahawks took on the best this year and left no doubt as to who is the best team in the NFL.

Our road was way tougher.

Indy, Carolina, San Fran and RAMS and AZ TWICE, and of course SAINTS(TWICE).

No walk in the park AT ALL.
Sorry to say, Denver looked so soft that every one in the AFC was shocked.

The road was tougher, the final opponent was tougher...well was SUPPOSED to be tougher anyway...(I knew they were a terrible match up, and that the Niners were really second best team! Richard Sherman has now also said and confirmed what I've been saying ).
Still, the number one offense OF ALL TIME with the greatest QB OF ALL TIME, and the Seahawks defense OBLITERATED it.

Point is, not many teams have ever had to go through the virtual gauntlet we went through to get to and then win the biggest game, and they did it in exciting, and dominating fashion, leaving NO DOUBT who the best team is.

Best part, I think they're just getting started and at least offensively, could be even better...quite a bit better actually with Percy Harvin healthy for a full season.
Name another team, (other than maybe the Patriots whose window has now pretty much closed),in the last two decades more perfectly situated to not only repeat, but to be dominant year in and year out for many years to come.
Granted, eventually the cap may tear it up a bit, as happens with all teams, and granted, once Wilson gets paid, we won't have the single most valuable (cap wise) player contract in football, but if you know Pete and John, they've been PLANNING for this!
The plan for how to deal with this are already in place, and have been since the start. Pete and john know exactly what they are doing!
I expect a really nice next decade or more with very regular post season attendance, and maybe even a couple more rings as well. We ought to get at least one or two more before Wilson retires

Don't count your bananas before they are slipped on, Monkey. Tomorrow is not promised. I agree that we are primed to have a great window of opportunity for the foreseeable future, but....any number of unseen misadventures may lurk. Live in the moment. Hold tight to this title and the joy that goes with it.

Aside from the impending cap issues and necessary roster turnover, I would fear complacency if it were not for Carroll and Wilson as leaders. We can stay hungry for a while with those two focused on the next mealtime. The big question is always health and from a competitive standpoint the NFC will be a murderer's row to wade through next year.

I'm with you Monkey, again ( as we discussed prior to OTA's this year)... maybe it's to early, but I am already thinking about a second Championship for this team. I don't want one great team, I want to be a dynasty, and to do so, you HAVE to do the things you have said. When they talk about "model" franchises, I want Seattle to be in every conversation, I want Seattle to be discussed EVERY year as a championship contender, I want them to recognise this team, it's fans and it's tradition as often and as much as they possibly can.....

Go big or go home.

This Championship is sweet, and magical, and amazing and brings tears of joy to my eyes, doesn't mean I can't see through them to a bigger and better future. The players and coaches understand that thought process, and it makes me personally ecstatic.

Congrats to EVERY Seahawks employee, and EVERY Seahawks fan ( even the johnny come latelies that wouldn't know the difference. Between Dan and Mark McGwire)
