My 80+ yr old fks too.... Though I'm not sure they quite understand how I have come to care so much for men I have yet to meet, they remain grateful, as do my partner and I, for the love and concern you show for me/us. I sincerely Thank you. I will learn more in the coming days... Looking like 3-4 moths of chemo, surgery (yet to be defined) flowed by 6 weeks (5 days a week) of radiation. Should get me to preseason football. P I S S!
Well... I'll manage it. There is no recourse but to. Each of uou have helped, more so than any of you realize.

We got some great news today. Just saw the Dr. today & they let me know that the PET scan came back clear... meaning the cancer hasn't spread/metastasised!!!! Thank the heavens. I will start chemo February 6th (after Super Bowl...yeah). Other things I learned:
- I Will lose my hair;
- Attitude will be key;
- I can golf if I want.
- 18-20 weeks chemo; wait 4 weeks; surgery; wait 4 weeks again; start radiation for 6 weeks (daily, save weekends); then hormone blocker therapy for 5-10 years.
- I see the surgeon again tomorrow.
- Ima be ok.
- I can drink cocktails Sunday!!!!
Love to all y'all. We are a tough/tight family.... I've got this.

I'm hangin' tough and paying attention (a little). Still have a bit of a Super Bowl buzz left in me too (I'm thinkin' I may get to keep that). Best thing about chemo is I can wear a SEAHAWK hat to work w/ a suit, and nobody says a word! HA! Keep me informed guys, I'm counting on ya.

my wife and I were the primary care givers in our home for my brother as he went through intensive chemo and radiation therapy while fighting Melanoma

Although we're not all there with you physically, we're still here to listen and support you. It really is like another home.
Haven't gone through this personally, so I can't pretend to have idea what you're going through. But please share your story with us, you have an awesome support system here at The Shack!
Fight the good fight, you will nail this!
