Hey Hawktawk,

Another thing with Martin is that you need to remember as you correctly stated, people are different.
In tort law, we call that the "eggshell plaintiff", one plaintiff may have a thick shell that took years and years to crack and be in court. The other plaintiff may have thin shell which cracked quickly.

This is quite common in courts dealing with these types of issues. Martin is no less or no more of a victim in my mind.

But he is still a victim. And that I am sure you can agree with.

Another thing to consider is the fact that he had lawyers as parents. Potentially, this could mess up any kid, if you believe the fact that lawyers are mostly class A personalities. I suspect that was the case here as well, but of course to what extent I do not know. You may be right brotha, the dude should not have been in the NFL to begin with, however, you can't argue that they mind-F'd the chit out of him at Miami. You and I might have reacted differently but this kid may have already been traumatized by previous experiences. We just don't know.

I do not disagree with anything you said in your post. No question that the callous attitude and ruthless pranking and jawing of the players in the locker room messed with Martins mind. And so yeah he was a victim of that. I feel apologetic of some of my characterizations of him. I hope hes getting the help he needs. But as Ive said I can relate to and understand the guys in the locker room who were being who they had always been and suddenly it was a crisis threatening their careers. Like I said there's no winners here and probably some lessons to be learned by everyone.

As much as I can't stand the guy, I hope he gets help. I don't like to see anyone sink this far.

Wait so do we now get to call Ritchie a puss, since he checked himself in to a clinic? Just messing around, hope the guy gets the help he needs. I mentioned the drinking/ Med combo for Bi Polar treatment, and it looks like he continues to have issues giving that stuff up. Work out all day, drink all night doesn't sound like a successful way to handle the situation. Good that he checked himself in, hope it helps him, maybe not in a get back in the league sort of way, but at least in a keep breathing and move forward sort of way.
