St. Louis- A+ Solid A+. I think that they had THE BEST draft of every in the entire NFL. I'd say they hit home runs with at least two or three of their picks, but that would be underselling it...they hit grand slams! I was blown away by their draft.

Santa Clara- B- A few reaches, and not one truly special, or scary player in the bunch. Still they accumulated a lot of solid looking players, and a lot of depth. Overall a solid draft, key for depth and beginning to replace some of the players on what is a rapidly aging defense, and potentially a couple of nice situational starters.

Seattle B- Too many value reaches to rank any higher, though four years from now, we'll likely be talking about what a brilliant draft it was yet again. Still, just like with the Niners draft, most of these guys will probably be depth, or situational starters, though Britt will at least compete to start right away at RT. Richardson will likely factor in as the deep threat/#4 WR, and next year our new LB will have a good shot at replacing Malcolm Smith if he leaves for money.

Arizona C+ (Provisional because if itturns out that they just drafted their franchise QB, then they get a MUCH higher grade). I really liked their first round pick, and liked that they keep beefing up their secondary, but a couple of those players I'm not impressed at all with, and I have very little hope for the QB to pan out personally.

Like I said, I haven't had much of a chance to do a lot of research into our picks, but your giving us a grade of a B- is about where most of the media is giving, although one of the reasons our grade was relatively low was due to the fact that we didn't have a pick until #45 and were without a 3rd round pick.

I haven't heard a lot of people talk about this DL from UCLA. He's one of the guys I haven't had much time to research. I didn't watch a lot of Pac 12 football last season.

Just from the Seahawks perspective I would grade each pick like this:

Paul Richardson A
Questions about his weight don't phase me AT ALL. There've been plenty of NFL players including Hall of Famers who were said to be too light, Marvin Harrison for example. Personally I don't like the DeSean Jackson comparisons because, even though they both have field stretching speed, Richardson is taller, and will be able to win more one on ones as a result. Potentially his ceiling is HIGHER than DeSean Jackson's IMO. Of course, he has to prove it first, and in this offense, he'll get fewer opportunities...at least at first.

Justin Britt C-
I like what I've seen from him on film. Love what he did against Clowney, love his moxy and attitude, I think he may turn out to be a solid starter for a long time, but I don't see pro bowl potential there...nor do I think that where we got him, the value was right. With the second pick you want more upside.

Cassius Marsh B+
I doubt his ceiling is pro bowler, BUT I do see him being a pesky good DE for a long time barring injury. His fiery attitude and relentless motor are PERFECT for this team. I don't think he's athletic enough to be elite, but he works hard enough to still be very good.

Kevin Norwood B+
He didn't put up wow numbers in college, (though part of that was because of all the other terrific offensive weapons on that team) but his QB LOVED him when things got tough, he was the go to guy when things broke down. He fits the Seahawks WR corps, and team as a whole PERFECTLY! Every thing he does really well, is exactly what we ask our receivers to do. I see a lot of Keenan McCardell potential here.

Kevin Pierre Louis A-
This might turn out to be the second best pick of the bunch. His athleticism is SICK! He'll fit right in with the rest of our LBers, with his terrific speed and agility. The guy could play safety with his speed and coverage skills. LOVED this pick, I just love the upside of Richardsdon more or I'd give him the highest grade.

Jimmy Staten C+
Love the athleticism, doubt he'll stick, or ever be more than depth at best, but he has the size and speed to be a run stuffing stud.

Garrett Scott C-
More athletic depth. At least this depth helps our biggest weakness. (BTW, all these super high SPARQ guys..notice a trend? It's obvious that the front office just loves SPARQ guys and will value them higher than players who other teams have ranked higher.)

Eric Pinkins B+
Great pick! While he'll likely be just depth at first, that's only due to how crowded our secondary is, and how hard it is to break into it as a starter. This guy could start day one on many other teams. Pete sure knows how to pick secondary!

Kiero Small C+
I like the player, what's not to like? He's built like a wrecking ball, and LOVES to hit. I'm not sure if this says more about Derrick Coleman, or just that Pete loves hard hitters on special teams. I have a feeling that, Coleman's blocking may not have come along to where the coaching staff had hoped? It's pretty clear that Mike Rob won't be here next year... My only question is, I thought we were moving away from fullbacks? If so, why do we need two?

Overall: not many starters, but then again, we already have such a solid lineup...so finding upgrades is going to be awfully tough. A lot of these guys could start right away on lesser teams, here they will be depth, or will play in special packages, and or special teams.

The two guys I see with the highest upside from this draft are Richardson and KPL, though ironically, it will be Britt who will have the best chance to start from day one.

The draft is about accumulating potential and unless we know what every team is trying to do it's difficult to give a grade.
That's why our drafts were rated so low the first couple of years.

As far as accumulating talent, I suspect the Rams did pretty well as they should with the high picks.
SF did pretty well, too and add in the injured Red Shirts from last year and they might be a team that has had significant improvement.
I really think the Cards will be better, too even if they didn't add a lot because it will be the 2nd year with Ariens at the helm.

I have high hopes with our first 4 -5 picks - the late rounds might not have much of a chance, but there's usually someone who surprises.
I hope it's OL where we find someone as they need the most improvement.
