Very undisciplined football by the Hawks. Coaching is very piss poor!

I am getting a little tired of the DC refusing to cover a TE..... ever... pretty damn sick of it. As for the O. Yuck, and that goes for every single player not named Lynch or Turbin. Bevell can eat a dick at this point.

As frustrated as I am with our Hawks today name me another 5-3 team that has had as many injuries on an otherwise suspect offensive line? Couple that with having the good hands and blocking of Miller out for most of the season and the major change of ridding ourselves of PH and you can understand why our offense has been in such a disarray.

Then you have to look at our defensive backfield which was hit hard with injuries and then the biggie of having Bobby Wagner out. You realize the importance of Wagner when he is not there.

On the bright side Bruce Irvin looks like he is finally coming in to his own.

If this team can get healthy they just might make the play offs and anything can happen once they arte in the play offs. That's where experience can be the difference!

The NFL has the Giants playing Monday night in Indy and turning around on a short week, coming across the country to play the 'Hawks... we should all be so lucky. 6-3 may not be as hard to reach.

Yeah, nicely put. You have to keep it in perspective. It's the NFL and anything can happen. 5-3 with the injuries, the subsequent talent drop off for players replacing the injured ones, the PH fiasco, the target on their back of being defending champs, the negative media attention, the mind numbing pre snap penalties, the number of holding calls, the gauntlet of upper tier QB's the Hawks have played, etc....is a pretty good record at this point.

I remember Pete saying last year it's not how you start, it's how you finish. If this team can get healthy by the time the Cards roll into town in 3 weeks, and if they can take care of the Giants at home and KC on the road, it will set them up nicely for a final 6 game stretch to end the year playing 5 division games.

The good thing is there is so much room for improvement. Anyone expecting the Hawks to play the way they did last year should forget about it. It was a special year of dominance. Not sure if they can get back to that level, but it was so high above everyone else, that coming down a bit for them is still good enough to win it all.

I for one, while not overly impressed with the wins, am happy to be at 5-3. Many other teams would not be there with as much adversity the Hawks have faced so far.

I agree. While I don't expect back-to-back super bowl trophies, it's still within reach.

I realize there is so much happening that we (the fans) can't begin to know, but I am still a lil irritated at the lack of attention to the o-line. Injuries have killed us, I know...but sheesh. At the same time, we are w/in striking distance after all the woes we have had.

And as much as I like our "young receivers" none of us expected Dougie to be the veteran WR leader on this team, probably not even Dougie.

I was less disappointed with the we played during the Rams loss than during this win. The results I am MUCH happier with though. :D

Ugliest win since Pete took over coaching. Wilson played sloppy, his accuracy was crap. The receivers are NOT getting open and we need a TE that can catch the ball. I had very high hopes for Luke Willson and I gotta say, so far I am unimpressed.
But BY FAR the worst problem, and the biggest reason that Wilson's accuracy was off was our line was HORRIBLE!!!!
Absolutely HORRIBLE!
I have no idea how Cable keeps his job at this point, he's supposed to be an O-Line guru, and the line is hands down, BY FAR the worst part of this team. Wilson is getting KILLED out there because of this wretched, vomit of an offensive line.

On a more positive note, Bruce Irvin is really becoming a force for us. He looked terrific again today.

Man these injuries are killing us...I sure hope we can get healthy by the time that we face all the NFC West teams.
Giants game is the last "easy" game on our schedule, if we can win that game get to 6-3, while getting healthy, I think we can still be OK by the time season ends. But MAN the offensive line is a mess!

Great post spot on. AS I have pointed all these Qbs have 2 huge things Wilson does not and it is easy to guess what

Luck - 6th pass blocking o-line and has TY Hilton, Wyane, Nicks to throw to
P Manning- 4th pass blocking o-line and he has Thomas, Welker, Sanders
Brady 19th ranked pass blocking o-line (ours is now ranked 28th) and he has Gronk, Edelman
Rodger o-line ranked 19th in pass blocking and has Nelson, Cobb to throw to
Brees o-line ranked 5th and he has Graham, cooks, Colson,
Ryan 7th pass blocking o-line and he has Hester, Jones, White, Smith
Rivers 9th o-line, and he has gates, Floyd, Royal, Allen

For those that cannot see its called an O-LINE and a great WR CORPS with at least 1 #1 wr

Agreed Anthony, we absolutely need a better line, and at the moment we don't have a legit #1; but I will say that, from what I have seen of Norwood and Richardson so far, I do have hope that this WR corps is trending up.
I think by the end of the season, we'll see a lot more of those two than we do right now, as they are still learing the offense and developing as receivers. Richardson can stretch the field, of that there is no doubt, I really like what I see of him so far. I really believe that Norwood has a very legitimate chance to become the #1 we're currently missing. He's got a ways to go certainly, but I can see the upside. He has the strength, size and speed to be that guy. I'm really liking what I see there as well!

So yeah, right now Wilson is suffering because he doesn't have much to throw to, and receivers just are not getting open, but by the end of this season, I think that will change, as those two guys in particular, get more acclimated and earn more playing time, and catches.
