OT-MNF I.E. Mark Sanchez

It looks as if a change of scenery has really helped Mark Sanchez, he is looking great of MNF tonight. What does that say about how badly he was coached by the Jets?? It seems to be a fore gone conclusion that Rex Ryan's days as HC with the Jets are numbered, and rightfully so. He is a DC not a HC just like his brother and his daddy.

another blowout on Prime Time... Sanchez not that great, but Philly looks way better against Carolina than the Seahawks did. JMHO.

Couple quick points:

The Hawks traveled across country to play the Panthers while last night Carolina was the road team in a very hostile environment. Cam looked downright arthritic at times and that was a huge difference in how effective the Panthers offense was. I agree that Sanchez looked like a different QB his days languishing under Rex Ryan.

I agree. Carolina looked like a lot different team than the one we faced a couple weeks ago. Cam's body language wasn't good. He looked like he'd rather be sitting in a beach chair. He's not a 'gamer' IMO. He gave up at halftime.

On a side note, what the hell is going on with all these Prime Time blowouts? We've only had a couple of games that were closer than 3 or 4 scores. I know that real football fans will watch the game despite the score, but I do like to see an exciting game every once in awhile.

The MNF announcers said something about Newton playing with a cracked rib and that is why he was having trouble throwing the long ball. Well, I don't know anything about that but no cracked rib caused Cam to throw passes to the other team as if he never saw the defender. Newton's footwork and throwing mechanics were all off too. I lost count how many times he threw off of his back foot instead of stepping into his throws with he wasn't even being pressured.

Cam Vs. Russell; Cam just does not look like the guy who used to be able to use his running ability and speed to either buy time to throw a pass or run for a first down the way he did in previous years and even earlier this year. Cam was pounded into submission (literally) and RD you are so right about his body language, you almost thought you were seeing Jay Cutler. Now, we know that Wilson has taken his share of hits this season but he has protected his body much better than Cam and also RG3 who also doesn't even look close to being the player he used to be. Newton used to be a very accurate passer but I saw none of that the other night. I am so glad that RW knows when to get down and avoid the brunt of hits that opponents are wanting to put on him. In fact, I am more worried about the hits Wilson takes after he is down and the whistle has blown that the officials keep letting the opposition get away with.

I read an article today that said Carolina officials confirmed that there is no physical problem with Cam. If I were a Panthers player or fan I'd be very worried. I thought he was hurt when I watched as much of the game as I could stomach. If he's having a problem getting himself up enough to play when the going get's tough then he cannot lead his team. Perhaps the kid has bi-polar issues. As noted in the article and from what I have seen, when the going is good Cam is high-fiving everyone in sight and cheering on the defense while he's on the sidelines. When the going get's tough he seems to sit on the bench by himself and sulk instead of looking at the pics of what transpired during the last series and rallying his offense for the next series.

It was a nice debut for Sanchez against Carolina, but he has a long way to go before he proves that he's "well."

I could easily see this guy relapse to being a butt fumble at GB this weekend.

Cam said he was hurt to a reporter. So HC and star QB disagree publicly about qbs health. Not good .

That thing is going from a championship caliber team to a hair fire quick.

While the Panthers did him no favors by losing the offensive talent from a year ago, I still have serious doubts about Cam.

He's a prime example of a QB who's only confident after the fact, meaning if he isn't on a role early in a game, he starts to check out mentally. It goes from bad to worse from there.

He looses focus too easily, and allows himself to throw passes that are up for grabs, or just plain lazy.

He's a great athlete who looks the part when his team is winning early on, but he falls apart just as fast when they fall behind.

Carolina is at a pivotal point for the longterm with Newton. He's going to get the typical Power Ball lotto money from somebody, and it'll be interesting if the Panthers pony up the pyramid of cash that it's gonna take to keep him. Obviously, they also have to consider that he's one of the few reasons fans show up to begin with.

I'd trade the guy myself. At the end of the day, I just don't see enough leadership from him. His psyche is too fragile. When the going gets tough, he folds. Newton is like the teammate we played with at one time or another growing up. He was the best athlete on the team, but also possessed the worst attitude, pointing at everybody else and owning up little when it came to his mistakes.

The Panthers likely will cave in to popular demand and re-sign him. IMO, though, the better move would be to get multiple draft picks for the guy, and find a QB who, while never likely being the same athlete, will be the better leader and prove to be more effective overall.

Buyer beware of C.N.

I honestly think he'll get a 'huge' contract from the Panthers, but it will be similar to Dalton or Kaeperniks deals, with a lot of built in protection and the ability to dump him a couple years into the deal should he continue to have issues. That seems to be the wave of the future, whether Cam will accept that type of deal or not remains the question, but guys really aren't going to be getting those huge deals that can sink a franchise for 5-10 years without some bonafide success on the field no matter the 'ceiling' they may possess. Fully expect a 150million dollar deal to be offered with maybe 30 million guaranteed for Newton.

Cam has to show that he can lead his team to the play offs and do something once they get there. He appeared to have reached that goal after his season last year, but then several key players left the team through retirement and other wise and the Panther front office didn't adequately replace them. Dude is taking a beating.

Didn't Cam lose his one and only playoff appearance, and I seem to remember the Carolina offense getting pretty much shut down for three quarters. I don't remember much success for Cam in the playoffs????

Unless your name is Alex Smith.

Only 45 million of Smiths contract is guaranteed, and the maximum contract value is 6/68 million which IMHO doesn't really cause long term damage, unless he becomes Jake Delhome or Matt Schaub all of a sudden ( as the next three years are the "money" years) after that they can cut bait and run the final two seasons with zero cap hit, it really is a. 4/45 million dollar contract.
