Pete Carroll v Chip Kelly?

Does anyone have their head to head record in college? This should be interesting. It looks like Philly is a offense machine moving at hypersonic speed. Hope our D is not out on field too long as they could get winded. Maybe snow would slow things down where Lynch could plow the way slow and steady.

Bottom line - we'll need our usual rushing attack to win, especially on the road.

We also gotta buck the trend of FG's and get more TD's. AZ and SF are not offensive juggernauts, but the Eagles lead the NFL in scoring with 375 pts (31ppg).

Cannot fall behind early and play shoot out with this kind of team. Get after Sanchez and force him into bad decisions. We're gonna load the box to contain McCoy anyway, so it's up to their passing O to win.

IMO, if we can win this game, we will secure our playoff position. Good momentum right now. Beat Philly to get to 9 W's, then follow it up with victories over SF and Stl. The road games here and in AZ are the X-factor. It can be done.

Go Seahawks!!!

Our red zone offense really sucks. I don't understand why Pete didn't challenge Moeaki's near touchdown catch and run. It sure looked to me like he broke the plane. Somehow I knew we'd end up settling for a FG.

That was frustrating, RD, to say the least.

We should be able to get 2 TD's out of 5 red zone possessions, IMO. That is not asking a lot, and we have a good enough D to preserve a decent lead.

We'll see if we can improve. I think we'll need to in Philly, unless we can force Sanchez into a butt fumble relapse.

Meh, Philly's defense scares me not in the least, and our defense is BUILT to beat offenses like Chip Kelly's.
This is EXACTLY the type of team we are built to beat. San Fran worried me more TBH.

Philly has a good pass rush, top 5 if I am not mistaken. Not that I'm all that concerned as Russell's hot right now and can deal with a good pass rush. He won't fold his tent like Romo did yesterday. But it is something we're going to have to plan against.

It looked like it could have been a TD, but I'm not sure the views were enough to overturn the call.
I really can't figure out why the NFL with all the money riding on wins, wouldn't have a series of goal line cameras at each end of the field as well as cameras down the sidelines. With today's technology it wouldn't be too expensive and they don't have to be very large - consider the pictures on smartphones and security cameras and how clear they are.

Yeah, there is absolutely no reason why "Was it a score or not?" plays can't be treated identically to "scoring" plays. The referees initial judgement shouldn't eliminate scrutiny that would otherwise take place.

And FTR, I don't think it was a TD.

Fair enough, but the things Philly's defense does not excell at also is of note ( namely they are 30th against the pass, 13th against the rush) Philly is a blitz heavy team ( just like our last two opponents) Wilson has excelled against a blitz for his entire career ( and has actually been far better the last two games when blitzed, which while odd, is true). We'll see what actually happens, but I promise, there isn't anymore concern in the Seattle offensive meetings, than there is in Philly's defensive meetings.

Will Philly win that battle? Will Wilson continue to take advantage of that aspect? Who knows? I'll be interested to see what Wilson can do with his legs as well, you blitz and play man, and Wilson will shred you. Should be fun.

I thought about that, too, North. But the replay does not have to show the ball breaking the plane with a down the goal line camera angle in order to reverse a call. They can pick common points of reference from multiple camera angles and use it to deduce that he broke the plane. It's like creating a 3D computer simulation.

In any event, IMO it was worth a challenge. Even if we lost, we still would have had the ball first and goal at the one inch line, we would have lost a timeout which at that point was pretty meaningless (it was in the first half), and we still would have had one challenge remaining to cover us for another 2+ quarters besides all the automatic reviews that are done.

But that's water under the bridge. The bottom line is that our red zone offense sucks, which is why I was upset about Pete's going for it on 4th and goal from the 2 in KC. It's a weakness that needs to be addressed.

Correct me if I am wrong, but didn't we burn a timeout right after that play because the length of the play.... and getting all the players down field to line up? So if we burned a Time out, why not just challenge it anyways and if we lose.. oh well we lost the "same" time out we used to save the play clock?

There was a timeout called after that play, but it was the Niners that called it.

Found this link about the upcoming game from an Eagles perspective. Interesting factoid in the article fails to mention the w-l record of the opponents they've beaten in their 4-2 stretch.
