Really bad news, Jordan Hill done for season

This one hurts. This one really hurts, because the backups aren't even close to what he was bringing, at 5.5 sacks in less than a full season. Hill had REALLY been coming on lately, he was quite possibly our hottest pass rusher, now the position gets uber thin.
Fortunately, DeMarcus Dobbs is finally healthy again, so all is not lost, but Dobbs is NOT Hill, not by any stretch.

I've said it before: this is how seasons go south. The pessimist in me can't help but wonder at what point these injuries will bite us.

On the positive side, Max Unger and Jermaine Kearse will be back.

Hill is going to hurt us not being able to play, no doubt so we'll have to see what they do to fill that void.

Tough loss. He was in fact playing very well. Watched him interviewed when I was up there and he was really getting into a rhytm. Dobbs is solid as a situational player, but not very good when pressed to play closer to full time. Losing Mebane and Hill n the course of a couple months will really test that Dline. Injuries are a drag.

Not good news. I was worried when they signed a DL off the street yesterday but was hoping he might just be out this game, somebody else has to step up, just for three games.

Hill was playing great and I don't want to diminish his contributions or say that we won't miss a beat, but this defense seems to be very organic in that it just continues to heals thyself.

Getting Unger back is huge.

I love the optimism on this thread. Hill made huge strides this season. The interior pass rush pressure that he brought in the second half of the season was exactly what was missing in the first half of the season. K Williams is better to suited to 1st and second down packages, but I can see him become more utilized on passing downs; his thirst for a ring will amp up his play.
