Julio Jones a Hawk?

Postby obiken » Tue Mar 17, 2015 11:40 pm

Guys we are hearing on 1080 the Fan here in Portland, that Julio Jones, wants to come to Seattle to play. I cant see it can you? He's worth 12 million on the open market, I just don't see where he would settle for a lot less to play on a winner. Hope I am wrong.

Even if the speculation for both Juilio and Bennett was true, I wouldn't trade a 'disgruntled' Bennett for him. We are not set up to make Marshawn, Graham, Baldwin and Julio all happy in an offense that runs fewer plays per game then most teams and runs the ball as much as we do.

I just don't see it. Percy chapter II, probably without the clubhouse issues, though and a huge cap hit for Julio.

I'm with Cbob on this one. We have to take these rumors with a grain of salt at least until the mainstream guys start repeating them.

As far as having Julio Jones on our team, sure, I'd love to have him. IMO he's in a very small class of receivers that features Dez and Megatron. But I think we are done with the big splash signings/trades for skill position players, at least until we get closer to Draft Day. We have other fish to fry, like replacing Unger and Carpenter.

This ain't just a grain of salt thing, snapper absolutely started this rumor himself and it just blew up on twitter until people started buying it! It's really comical to watch something like this take hold.

Isaac Ropp and Jason Sukanic here in Portland spent quite a bit a time on this subject on their show. Their concern was that JJ, was worth way more than our cap could pay him.

Obi, the story is made up.

An old PI poster made it up and put it on twitter to see who would run with it and it blew up ... there is no basis in truth to it whatsoever.

The good ones still do. The rest are in too big a hurry to to be in on what's new without putting in the work to be that guy. These kind of fake twitter stories are at least good weeding out the real reporters from the lazy ones.

Im sure A LOT of players "want" to play for Seattle. We have an extremely successful team, a fun (though strategically flawed) head coach, and Washington has no state income tax.

I dont give a damn about who "wants" to play for Seattle.

I care about who is willing to TAKE A DISCOUNT to come to Seattle.

The lack of a state income tax is one of the least talked about advantages that we have when it comes to attracting free agents. We're one of just a handful of states with NFL teams that does not have a state income tax with Florida, Texas, and Tennessee being the others. That can mean a difference from 4.5% to 10%.
