You're in my prayers, sis.
I've found that prayer really helps ease my mind - when I remember to do it.
It's been a big help in overcoming a few things over the last 4 yrs for me as well.
Godspeed to you.

I'll be praying for you too Sista. Try not to think about the upcoming results, I know that's almost an impossible task. Things will be fine, we just went through some stuff with my sister and she came out on top. I'm sure you'll be there as well!

I can understand including Futureite as part of your online family, but if you were to have included CP, I'd say you'd gone off your rocker.
On a more serious note, I'm not all that religious, but I do recall a prayer that I had read a few months before my dad died of cancer at a relatively young 59 years of age that struck me as being very profound. It went like this:
"God grant me the courage to change the things that I can change, the serenity to accept those things that I cannot change, and the wisdom to tell the difference between the two."

The serenity prayer is what it's called and here is the full version.
God grant me the serenity
to accept the things I cannot change;
courage to change the things I can;
and wisdom to know the difference.
Living one day at a time;
Enjoying one moment at a time;
Accepting hardships as the pathway to peace;
Taking, as He did, this sinful world
as it is, not as I would have it;
Trusting that He will make all things right if I surrender to His will;
That I may be reasonably happy in this life and supremely
happy with Him forever in the next.
Amen

Well fellars.... Looks like I have a little breast cancer to deal w/. Got the news this afternoon. We are staying positive & I like my chances. While I learn more on Thursday w/ a specialist, early indications are that it's relatively early. I'll be fine....I have a great family & lovely friends.... I include you guys in that group, strange as it sounds.
Thanks for the love & support. Go Hawks!

I am sorry to hear this Sis! It is good to hear that you are staying positive. Two women very close to me have been diagnosed with Breast Cancer in the past two years. On both cases they were fairly aggressive Cancers and neither were found especially early. In both cases those women are in remission. The medical ability to treat cancer has come so far in the last decade. My prayers will continue, and I know you will fight the good fight, anybody who has been a Hawks fan as long as you knows all about persistence!

Very glad to hear its an early catch sista. Although it does not seem to occur in my family far too many of my friends have fought it. Early diagnosis helps so much.
I know we only have a few lines a week in a forum to get to know you, but I think you are a very happy and caring person. Let people care for you during this time. It really does help. You have all the positive thoughts, prayers, and good vibes I can muster from the other side of this forum.

I'm so sorry Sis. But the very good news indeed is that you caught it early. Now stay on top of it and with the help of your doctors and the support friends and family (those IRL too

) you'll beat this thing!

Sis
I circled up my girls,(I have 3 daughters & a wife), & said this prayer.
God, we come to you in prayer for Mary Anne Seay, who has been diagnosed with breast cancer. We know that you hold the power to heal in your hands, & we humbly ask that you heal this terrible disease in her & fill her with the peace that comes with knowing that she is in your care. We also pray that you fill her friends & family with hope & a positive attitude as she fights this disease. May you provide the clarity of mind & good judgement to her Doctors & caregivers need to give Mary Anne the best care possible through this fight. We ask this in Jesus' name, Amen
You will need to garner knowlege about your condition. I suggest that you do research. Also, get yourself a juicer and start juicing everyday. There are lots of cancer fighting foods out there that are found right in your produce section. I have heard numerous stories of people who juiced their way back to health from cancer. If there is anything we can do to help please ask. We will pray for you often & wish you all the best in your fight.

I am humbled by your support.... Each and every one of you. I appreciate every prayer and kind word. You guys are the best.
As you have likely garnered.... I'm pretty tough! It's hard for me to wait for a treatment plan, I'd just as soon rather start yesterday. Anyway..... Thanks again.

My thoughts are with you and I have all the confidence in the world that you will be strong enough to win this fight. My own wife was diagnosed 7 years ago with IBC (an aggressive form of breast cancer). Her positive attitude and courage went a long way towards her victory and I am happy to report to you that she has been cancer free for almost 6 years now.
You've got this beat. You really do. If you ever have a question that you think my wife, or even I could answer for you do not hesitate to message me.
Strength, courage, and infinite hope.

Just the word 'cancer' is enough to scare the beejeezus out of anyone. It's not unlike how the word 'polio' affected my parent's generation. But as the others have stated, they've come a long ways in their treatment of the disease and while not ever having had the pleasure of meeting you in person, I feel that I have gotten to know your spirit well enough to know that your going to meet this challenge head on. The fact that you're open enough to spill your guts to us is evidence of this spirit of which I'm referring to.
Thanks for sharing your ordeal with us, sis. It reinforces the fact that we're all human. Sometimes in the absence of visual or audio stimuli, we tend to forget about that fact. You are a very brave woman.

Hey Sis...sorry about the news and I hope this is not too forthright, but I care and want to share this with you.
A few years ago, both my station manager (female) and one of our programmers (male) were diagnosed with cancer. They were close friends and got the news within days of each other. he didn't take it so well. She, a woman with bigger huevos than 99% of the men on this planet, promised me should we fight it and not lose the battle. He pretty much gave in and didn't last a year. She went with the treatments, fought hard and is as lively as ever. Prior to this, I never much believed in the power of positive thinking. I sure as hell do now and I'm thinking positive thoughts for you today and will do so everyday. You have all my aloha and I know you're going to kick ass.
