Who are you most happy for on the team?

For me, I think the guys like Brandon Mebane and Red Bryant who have seen the bottom for this team and Cliff Avril who has seen an 0-16 record are the two who I'm happiest for.
The other veteran FAs that signed here because they thought we had a chance like Zach Miller and Michael Bennett.
Unsung heroes like Michael Robinson who bring a lot of desire and leadership.
Others of note like Doug Baldwin and Jermain Kearse both Undrafted FA's who made big contributions all year.

It's just so good to see the whole organization at the top of their profession.
It must be an incredible experience to be able to say - even if it's for a relatively short while - that collectively they are the best in the world at what they do.
Not many get to ever say that.

All great selections, North. Thank you for reminding us of the guys to whom this just might be extra special. But even though it doesn't fit the criteria of your question I would like to say that I am most happy for us, the fans, the die-hard 12's.

Especially those of us who have been Seahawks fans since the beginning. And please don't think I am taking anything away from those of us who came later to the Hawks. Hell, us forever Hawks can remember a time when it was pretty damned lonely on the band-wagon so the company is most welcome even from those who have recently boarded.

But man, this victory is soooooooo sweeeeeeeet to me. In a small, weird way, I feel like I have earned my little piece of it. Faithful, unwavering support of a team truly bears rich rewards.

GO HAWKS!

This is such a great question. I recall when The Boston RedSox won their first Championships in years how the fans talked of their fathers and grandfathers that never had a chance to see their hopes come to fruition. I am obviously very happy for the players and coaches, but I am thrilled for us fans. It was not that long ago that Seattle was named the worst sports town in america; after losing the Sonics, the 0'for season for the huskies and the less than mediocre M's and at the time mediocre Hawks.

Its a new day. Fans like my 90 year old father figure got to witness this. I'm sure we all know someone that questioned if such a day would happen in their lifetime. Congratulations to a city that deserved this like no other. Never again are we to be included on any list of worst sports cities. Today is a day when my strongest sports emotion is not hate for OKC (F them btw); my strongest sports emotion is gratitude to a team that I have followed since its inception. All of us fans win today. I am happy for us.

Do not overlook Paul Allen. He saved this team from moving, he survived cancer, he lost more than won with the Blazers, he has given some much to a great city. God bless him. Thank you Paul.

Obviously all the team, but "most"? A part of me is really happy for Mike Rob. I'm so sick and tired of us having some of the greatest FB's never getting a ring. Mack Strong really deserved one.

I am happy for every person on that team.

However I am especially happy for Brandon Mebane - he has been a consistent force for the past 7 years.

Another Special call out is to Marshawn Lynch - He has sacrificed his body to unreal punishment over the years. From his tough beginnings in Life to now being on top of the world, I am happy for Marshawn that his sacrifice has been rewarded.

Finally Big Red - I still remember his head Butt a couple seasons ago on the road at the end of a game - he received a lot of criticism for it but I posted on the PI board at the time that I felt that Big Red was sending a message to the other team and the entire NFL that a new type of defense has taken up residence in Seattle and that they were no longer going to be pushed around.

I was thinking about players when I started this thread, and I overlooked Marshawn Lynch.
He's what Reggie Jackson used to call "the straw that stirred the drink" in that his physicality and never giving up on a run makes everyone work harder.

Others are right, this should extend to coaches, Management including support staff, trainers, and the fans, too.
Good for Paul Allen. He deserves a special congratulations as we wouldn't be doing this if he hadn't bought the team.

I can't pick just one, really.

But yeah, player-wise, I guess I prolly gotta go with either Cliff Avril or Russell Wilson.

Overall?

Paul Allen, and Bo and Luke Duke.

Pete Carroll, because he has now validated his whole coaching philosophy. Secondly, Mike Rob. because when this season started he wasn't even on the team.

Flip side, I am trying to feel bad for Brandon Browner because he had come so far, but he threw it all away. He will be lucky if he gets voted a quarter share.

It's so hard to narrow it down because as soon as I think of one story I think of another and I'm like "how can I leave that out". I'm going to limit it to three (no particular order) but it's really really hard.

1. Michael Robinson. This guy was such a big time leader in the locker room and for him to have been cut at the start of the year and if he had not been brought back in for this ring, it just would have sucked. That guy was so much a part of helping to shape the young guys.

2. Kam Chancellor. He's the most unsung guy in the LOB (publically) and he came out and set the tone for everyone by destroying Demarius Thomas on that first catch. Now people are raving about him. So happy for that guy.

3. Russell Wilson. He's just every thing you ever want out of your QB (aside from being 6'5") to be able to see a guy who does everything the right way have this success means something. Nice guy actually finished first.

Not that any of them aren't deserving, but those guys are all pretty young, and haven't really paid their dues in terms of longevity. I'd lean more towards Unger, Mebane, and Bryant, all of whom were here during the previous regime and all of whom have been key components of our team before Pete and John took over.

Like I said it's really hard and I just don't think it's as simple as seniority.

For me, I am happy for all those guys, especially guys like Mebane, Red, Avril etc, but the two players I am MOST happy for happen to be guys that seldom get much recognition. Coleman and Robinson. To me there is no two more deserving on this team to be happy for. Coleman's and Robinson's fight to get here is an inspiration to many, and they IMHO deserve to be acknowledged...

In no particular order:

Mrob: this super bowl win will allow him to retire on top with no regrets. No reason to carry 2 fb anymore. Coleman, show us what ya got!

Red Bryant: was able to redeem himself and turn into a positive player, but his unique style of DE is just not effective enough (hard to get pressure on qb when hes playing) and his cap number makes him a likely casualty unless he takes a paycut. He played a big part in the early years of Carroll and was able to mask our lack of DE talent for a while. If he gets cut at least he got a ring and has nothing to regret. Out of all the seahawks whose jobs are in jeopardy he has been the most important for the longest time. Getting him a ring was really nice.

Bryan Walters: he went to Juanita High like I did, and he seems to really appreciate what he has been able to experience. The guy is really a practice-squad guy and only made the 53 man roster due to WR injuries later in the season and is highly unlikely to be on the 53 man next year (he might even be ineligible for PS next year). He grew up watching the Hawks and he got to be a (tiny) part of our first championship. This will definitely be the highlight of his short career and something he will always cherish.

As for the Hawks whose jobs are safe in 2014? They have next year's ring to look forward to, so I will express my happiness for them a year from now.

Most sappy for Michael Robinson who laid in a hospital with a mysterious screwed up liver and pancreas wondering where the lions were that appeared to have stolen his career ... but he persisted.

Most clappy for Marshawn, who did it his way, and carried the spirit of the team in his own way, and the hurt is with you if your don't understand him, his way.

Most zappy for Heath Farwell, who led special teams, but who has scrapped to make the team each and every year in that process and came up strong each time he was called on.

But I am most happy for this entire team, all the dragons who blew fire and rain on every other contender. They hit 'em with a left , and hit 'em with a right, and hit 'em til they hurt.
It was the defenders and offenders who became a single entity. Ain't no one among 'em, it was a generally unheralded bunch who became true believers in themselves and each other.

Of all people, Percy Harvin kept coming to mind. We're all aware that his regular season playing time was minimal, to put it kindly, but his contributions were just about as big as anybody else yesterday.

And for him in particular, I think it'll help his mindset moving forward. I think the kid cares, and I imagine there's a huge sense of relief for the way things turned out in the Super Bowl.

GO HAWKS!

You HAVE earned it, and I can prove it.
Look up in the rafters of the C-Link, see that retired number 12? That's your number!
That's my number too!
We're part of this team, and though I wasn't at the game, I know the guys that were, who also wear my number, literally affected the outcome of the game!
Peyton Manning, Manny Ramirez, and now Wes Welker have all said that, they weren't prepared for the NOISE, they weren't ready to play at volume 12.
That's us! That's our piece of this win! I take pride in being a part of the BEST DAMNED FANBASE IN FOOTBALL!

1a. The 12th Man, who have suffered longer than many of the players have been alive
1b. Paul Allen, who deserved to have his faith in the 12th Man's ability to support a franchise rewarded
2. Marshawn Lynch, and I don't know why. Just something about his humble beginnings, his no-nonsense approach, and the real emotion he showed in that Deion Sanders interview put him at the top of this list.

We'll see. The proof will be in the pudding.

But like you, I was relieved to see Percy playing as advertized. That kickoff return was impressive, he had two nice runs, and he made a nice catch of a swing pass that Russell didn't throw real well. He's definetly has talent.

Gotta give a shout out to Chris Clemmons as well, since he had a strip fumble on both Moreno and Manning, though neither one of those were recovered.

Still, the guy came a long way from that bad injury during the WC round matchup vs Washington last year. We'll see if he remains, but he had one heck of a career and SB game should he be gone by next season.

Agreed, but I don't think he will retire, heard MROB state that after season he was going to be a free agent. No doubt he will test the market and see if he can get a signing bonus or two as upfront money for him elsewhere. He deserves it. Use the SB win to catapult him upwards and to at least a couple more million!

No doubt. I've been one of the most vocal Pete critics in Seahawk nation, and I'll be the first to admit that I was wrong. The man knows football and knows how to build a defense, if not an entire team. He can coach my team for as long as he likes.

Thanks, Eaglehawk.

He's an easy one to overlook - I certainly did until after the fact. I was just glad he showed flashes of his old self during the biggest game possible. Who knows, maybe there's still a spot for him this fall.
