The Spoils of winning?

Of course among the privileges of winning for the team the increased exposure and the national stage, but as a fan I no longer feel the need to have my team justified as worthy. I still hear the questions and faint tones of nit picking disrespect, but I no longer care what the media or other teams fans think about who we are or how we got there. The Seahawks are champions; end of discussion.

I never did feel the need for my team to be justified by the national media. I know what I know.

I think Rott said it best:

"Suck it, world."

The haters have to reinvent themselves and find another reason to hate us. Certainly they can't hate our play, but they will find something.

As OP said. I DON'T CARE.

Some will always hate us because they hate Pete.
Others are just jealous of our success and when we were once considered soft we are now providing beat downs - on their teams.
It goes with the territory - winning breeds bandwagoners and haters.

I'm not sure who said it ( I think LT on NFL network) but it was something to the effect that it shouldn't have been a surprise if they ( the media) had been paying attention all year, the outcome wouldn't have shocked them. That the Seahawks had been doing that for a couple years to the people paying attention, it wasn't a surprise.

That was enough for me. Even now there are the Seattle can't repeat because of the Niners, or Cards or Saints or whomever happens to be their favorite at the moment, fine with me, guess the Hawks have to prove them wrong again....

The Seahawks are the 19th NFL franchise to win a SB. It used to chap me that Tampa Bay got theirs before we got ours. From my view, as a fan base we Seahawk fans have always had a chip on our shoulder. Whereas, the players can use that disregard as motivation and "do something with it", we the fans can only mire in the disdain of an un-appreciating media. Now that we are legitimized (yes, I believe that this win legitimizes our team; without it we are simply want-to-be's), I no longer care if the media or other fan bases appreciate what we have.

We are in the club of NFL Champions. Now that we are in, like so many other circumstances in life, we no long yearn for the approval of others.

The hate coming from the 49er fans is palpable. Too a degree, from the team itself too. Its interesting, most Hawk fans just love their Hawks and could give a crap about other teams. As for the 49ers, I could care less about them.

But in thinking about their hate toward the Hawks, I guess it comes from them finally peaking after so many years of mediocrity themselves, to then have the Hawks start peaking too, and at least this year, preventing them from another Lombardi.

Makes sense why some of the 49er fans are hating us.
That's what rivalries are all about. 2 teams at or near the top of their game and in the same division.
It's great fun for us fans - even if we lose once in a while to a quality rival.
