It was really a great weekend for Seattle sports. Saturday Walter Jones gets elected to the Hall of Fame and David Stern retires. Sunday win the Super Bowl. So happy for Walt.

There would have been no credibility left if he wasn't a first ballot inductee.
Good to see he's getting his due on the national stage.

Big Walt was IMHO the best lineman to ever play the game, if he didn't get in first ballot it would have mad e the Hall a joke.

You might as well have burned the place down if Walt didn't get in on the first ballot.

We don't have many HOF'ers, but they are all class acts.

Actually while agree that the SB win may distract local fans that would have otherwise had nothing else to satisfy their Seahawks fix, from a national perspective I think it helps put the focus on Big Walt's induction.

Congrats indeed! Love ya Walt, best LT ever to lace 'em up!

Exactly what I was thinking Bob.
It was a nice bit of timing, that his entrance into the hall came as we were winning it all. The perspective on it all has changed, the Seahawks are looked at differently now, as are the players who came before. This championship reflects well forwards, because it can never be taken away, and back, because it causes you to remember the ones who broke the ground and paved the way.

Walt raised the 12th man flag at the rally which was a nice touch.
