Franchise info

Well, very little going on so I thought I would throw out a few interesting bits regarding our beloved Seahawks.
First, at lunch last week I was talking with a Redskins fan. He was quizzing me to see if I was a bandwagon fan or not. ironically, my Hawks jacket I was wearing is at least 20 years old. I threw it back at him and asked, who knocked your beloved Redskins out of the playoffs their last three appearances? He didn't know. I had to do some checking, but sure enough, Redskins have made the playoffs 3 times since 2000, and all three times were knocked out by the Hawks!

Other things I find cool to share:
Hawks are 10 wins away from being .500 as a franchise
Hawks are already .500 in the playoffs
Out of the 31 other teams, Hawks have losing record against only 10 (including Cards?!?). Aside from Broncos and Chiefs who owned us for years, we're only a handful of wins away from even.
Pete Carrol is exactly 1/2 way to Mike Holmgren's winning record with the franchise at 43.
Seahawks are now 1 of 7 teams with one SB win (ignoring SB 40), with 4 teams not making it yet and another 5 teams that made it but lost. Only 8 teams have 3 or more, and I think we can join that club with our current squad.

Good bit of trivia there, Pasadena. I wonder how we compare with our sister franchise, the Tampa Bay Bucs? We have the same number of SB wins and share the distinction of having donned the world's ugliest uniforms (their popsicle orange, our neon green).

Good find PH thanks for sharing.

That kind of info I never knew about especially the Holmgren 43 wins part.

Good stuff, PH.

I was curious about our franchise mark, and was surprised somewhat by the fact that we're *only* 10 wins shy of being .500 as a franchise. Nice monkey to get off our back by next season's end.

The 2nd thing I underlined demonstrates yet another sad fact for the Detroit Lions, who are now the only team left in the NFC who have not made a SB since the game's inception.

Ouch.

Right on Eagle, to be clear, Holmy had 86, Pete has 43 so far, so 1/2 way there.

The Lions do top the SB futility list for the NFC, and indeed the entire league, but you do have to keep in mind that there's only been one new team in the NFC in the past 30 years (Carolina). All the others....Houston, Jacksonville, and Cleveland, are in the AFC, and none of them have gotten to a SB, either.

It sure is nice taking off the dunce cap of teams that have never won a SB. Roughly half the league has never won a SB, and now that list does not include the Seahawks.
