I first saw the words, Seattle Seahawks Super Bowl Champions.
Absolute must read. Do yourself the favor and click the links, they're hilarious!

Been meaning to read your posted link for awhile, monkey, and I'm glad I did.

Great article that touches pretty much on how I feel about the whole thing.

It's still sinking in for me. At any random time of day or night since we won, it just flashes in my head, "The Seahawks are Super Bowl Champions." What a great thing to think about.

Thank you for passing this along.

You're quite welcome Zorn.
I didn't expect this thread to get many responses, because it's not really that type of a thread. It's more one of those things where people read it and connect emotionally with it at whatever level they do, and then sort of move on with a "we won the Super Bowl" smile pasted on their face.
I just wanted as many people as possible to get the chance to see and read it, and recover that smile for a moment, we 12's have earned it!

It's funny how I had always thought that the moment we finally won a Superbowl would be SO ecstatic, cathartic, so emotional and intense, and really, because of the way that they won that game, (leaving zero doubt from the first snap on who the better team was, and blowing them out in laughably historic fashion) none of that feeling actually hit me all at once the way I had always thought it would.
Instead it hits me a little at a time, sometimes in small waves, in moments where I see something or hear something and it hits me, "the Seahawks won the Super Bowl"
If the game had been close, and there had been some dramatic game sealing moment like the NFC Championship game had (another reason I'd said since that game ended that it was the REAL Super Bowl), then we all probably would have felt that huge moment of ecstatic release most of us imagined it would be like.

Instead, the whole Super Bowl was less of a game, more of a coronation of the team that had already beaten the second best team two weeks before.
Had it been a close game, it may have felt better at the moment of victory, because it would have matched our expectations better; but the way they beat the Broncos in the biggest game, the way they utterly obliterated the statistically best offense of all time, the way they completely dominated the entire game from start to finish, never once letting off the gas, and thoroughly embarrassing them, was MUCH better in the long term, because we will never hear the arguments that, "if the Broncos had just done this or this, they might have won".

We'll ALWAYS have the media idiots, the Skip Bayless' and Steven A Smith's of the world on record, admitting they were incredibly wrong (again) and stupid for picking against the best team in football all year the way they did.
We'll always have the satisfaction of knowing that not only were the Seattle Seahawks the games best team all season long, start to finish, wire to wire, and not only were they the Super Bowl champions, but they won it in historic fashion, by delivering an epic beat down for the ages, to the greatest offense ever.
That may not provide as ecstatic a moment as a close hard fought win would have, but better, it gives us fans a place at the table to argue that the 2013 Seahawks had one of the greatest defenses of all time, and by destroying the greatest offense to ever play in a blowout, they've sealed the argument that the 2013 Seahawks are hands down the single greatest defense in a Super Bowl game ever...IMO that is not even up for debate.
What's more, we now have a place in the argument for one of the best all around teams OF ALL TIME! I won't even try to be the person to make that argument because we all know I am completely biased :P so I'll let the guys at cold hard football facts make the argument better than I could anyway.
