Players of interest. Sataoa Laumea received an overall grade of 38.8, an improvement over the 29.2 grade he had as of Week 13. Russell Wilson is the 11th ranked QB, a slight improvement over the #13 spot he was ranked at in Week 13.

I'll try to get to the team position group rankings a little later on. A little feedback would be appreciated. Let me know if you have any questions about a specific player, a breakdown of a player's grade, etc.

I have no idea how they rank the players but to see Ernest Jones fall from 41 to 48 when he's had a series of really good games including Sunday is confusing to me. It's also a mystery to me how Abe Lucas could be rated so much worse than Charles Cross when Cross, in my eyes hasn't played all that well - competent, but I think there are more than 10 better OTs out there and I doubt Lucas has been outplayed by 67 other Tackles or is 56 slots worse than Cross.
It's almost like there is a built in bias in some of the rankings and a player is penalized for being injured.
They must be looking at something that I just don't see or I don't see what they are looking for.

I don't know exactly how they're graded, either. I do know that they grade every player on every play. Here's a brief description of what they look at:

One thing that I don't think they do enough is that they don't put enough weight on team success, especially for the quarterback position. Joe Burrow is definitely executing plays well, but his team is a major disappointment, 5-8 and a long shot to make the playoffs, while Patrick Mahomes for the 12-1 Chiefs is ranked 8th behind Derek Carr and the soon to be eliminated 5-8 Saints. The QB is the most influential position on the field, and credit should be given for those who have their teams at the top of the league.

Another ranking that doesn't make a lot of sense is Saquan Barkley at running back. He's playing for the 11-2 Eagles, is on track to win the rushing title with over 2,000 yards, yet he's ranked just 9th amongst running backs behind players like Bucky Irving and James Conner.

I am by no means indicating that PFF is some sort of holy grail, but we can't dismiss their work as irrelevant.
