I'm a little surprised that the run blocking grade didn't improve and actually decreased by one spot despite the fact that we had one of the best rushing performances of the season, chalking up 176 yards on the ground. Running actually improved two slots, telling me that PFF has more respect for our running backs than they do our blocking. The Cards are ranked 19th in yards allowed, which is middle of the road in a 32-team league. It still doesn't make a lot of sense.

However, some of the other rankings and their relative increases/decreases do meet the eye test. Our defense has shown a significant improvement over the past 5-6 games, and that's reflected in the rankings. Special teams, after a disastrous performance against the Jets, rebounded as Dickson had 4 out of 5 punts downed inside the 20 including nailing one inside the 5 while Meyers was 3-3 on field goal attempts and 3-3 on extra points. That, too, is reflected in the increase in rankings from 18th to 14th.

The overall team ranking of #11 is close to what most power rankings have us pegged at.
