It’s a bad year for WRs this draft and now we need 2 with Lockett being released today.
Agent 86 wrote:If I am to understand this correctly, the Seahawks would incur a dead cap hit if they trade DK. Here is what I found on Over The Cap:
Trade pre June 1st designation- Dead Money Cap Hit of $21,000,000.......cap savings of $10,875,471
Trade post June 1st designation - Dead Money Cap Hit of $13,875.000.....cap savings of $18,471,000
Can someone verify this as I am a bit lost when it comes to this kind of stuff when trades happen.
NorthHawk wrote:That would be nice but doesn’t Garrett want to go to a contender and we are in the middle of a rebuild.
I was thinking more of getting a 1st from a team like Buffalo or KC or maybe even Houston.

NorthHawk wrote:That’s what it looks like to me so clearly a post June 1st designation would be the best option.
edit: post June 1st Cap savings according to Overthecap.com is $18,000,471

NorthHawk wrote:I think it’s a better market this year with a much lesser WR draft class. Lots of teams will want DK, but clearing the Cap space and readjusting their draft board because of his addition could take a while before an offer could be made.
River Dog wrote:There's lots of WR's on the free agent market/trading block. The Rams want to move Cooper Kupp. The Bengals aren't expected to bring Tee Higgins back. "Hollywood" Brown, Keenan Allen, Stefon Diggs, DeAndre Hopkins, Devante Adams, and Chris Godwin are all expected to be on the market. That's a lot of options for teams that might be hesitant to trade anything of value for an inconsistent WR like Metcalf.

NorthHawk wrote:You were right we couldn't get a 1st for him but I read or heard he turned down the same offer from Seattle that he signed for in Pittsburgh. He just wanted out.
It was said he wanted to go to a warm weather team that is a contender with a good QB. But he signed with Pittsburgh who at this point doesn't have 2 of those qualities and may be doubtful about being a contender.
