Good move to sign Sherman when we did

Joe Haden just re-signed with the Browns for more than Sherm.

From PFT:

"Haden, who has been with the Browns since they chose him with the seventh overall pick in the 2010 NFL draft, has agreed to a new contract that will keep him in Cleveland through the 2019 season. A league source tells PFT that the deal includes a $14 million signing bonus, $22 million fully guaranteed at signing and another $23 million guaranteed for injury. The signing bonus, the full guarantee and the amount guaranteed for injury all surpass the deal that Richard Sherman just signed with Seattle."

Peterson is still negotiating with the Cards so he will want even more than Haden.
The price keeps going up up up.

Saw this... although they might have just been waiting on the Seahawks to set the market.

Good point Kal, and as I said in the Sherman post, in 2-3 years, he'll be considered "underpaid", I currently feel he is as of now...... LOL

( uggh auto correct sorry Kal or I guess Karl LOL).

Yup, that's how the game is played.

If you're an agent working for a Pro Bowler you get to demand more than the last Pro Bowl talent at the same position just got. That's why contract #s always go up ... and it doesn't matter if "they" are saying the other guy is "the best" or not, if your guy went to the Pro Bowl you're in the game.

That's also why it's good to get your contract extensions done as early as possible; no matter how exorbitant they seem at the time, after the next 3 or 4 signings they look like a bargain.

Exactly, this is how the game is played. Still, though some people weren't sure what to make of the contract, I can pretty much guarantee that after this, and after Patrick Peterson signs for even more than this contract, we'll be thinking we got a steal with Sherman's deal.

Oh yeah and here's a Justin Britt gif for your viewing pleasure Image
