I'm glad it was caught before anything serious happened. Must be terrible for the guy going from the high of being drafted to understanding you have a serious medical condition that may put any future endeavors in doubt. I am glad my team did the right thing, signed him, and got him some insurance and a signing bonus. The 12s are still rooting for you Garrett.

Many of us were thinking just of how it affects the team, but some things are more important than that.

Good luck to Garrett, I hope your degree allows you to succeed in life.

Wish you all the best Garrett.

From a team standpoint, when we're looking beyond the combine for late rounders it's on us to give them a thorough physical.

It was nice of Paul Allen to get Scott the $550k that we would have gotten by making the team. He wont count against the cap and it won't hurt Allen's bank account much.

It sounds to me like, they knew about the condition before they announced his signing initially, and that they did it so he could get paid.
If so, that's awesome!
That's a classy move right there.

I agree, it was classy to give him his signing bonus, and you know the decision to do such must have came from the old man. The players won't forget that.

Seattle does things different ( not saying there aren't other teams that would have done the same, just that a majority of other teams wouldn't have IMO). Big reason why a lot of players WANT to play here now. They truly have changed the environment in Seattle.
