Brian Walters resigns with Hawks to "active 53 man roster"

Postby depaashaas » Mon Sep 01, 2014 7:24 pm

I was little bummed when they cut him and I was really surprised to find that he got signed to active roster and not practice squad, they had to release Phil Bates to do so http://www.seahawks.com/news/articles/a ... 2c0e2d63dc weird but it's fine with me, and with this signing will Earl still remain punt return man?

Boy, I hope that is not the teams thinking... "Insurance Policy"? against what? If ET goes down, punt returner is not the position that we should be worried about and waste a roster spot for a backup on the 53 man. And Richard Sherman is supposed to be the back-up PR. How's that for balsey player management for PC/JS? Didn't Bates outplay Walters this pre-season, for what that's worth?

They have 6 other WRs on the active roster, so either he or Bates would be depth.
At least he can return punts if they want to use him that way, but Pete confirmed on Monday that ET will be returning punts.

Glad to see Walters back even after he fumbled that kick off against Oakland.

I kept waiting for Bates to show off that famous speed but he either didn't get open or would run a bad route and then didn't catch the ball when it was thrown his way. I understand he was great in practice, but you have to do it under the lights if you want to be a Pro. Maybe Jacksonville will sign him to their PS since Gus seems to fall all over everybody we release LOL.

I read on the NFL Web site that Chris Clemons was cut by Texas, I didn't even know he had left the Jags. Then I read the article and the said Clemons was a Safety. I figured that this must be another Clemons but the picture they posted war CC in a Jags uniform so I was perplexed to say the least.

If the Jags DID cut Clemons it sure justified us jettisoning him.

Yes, there are two Clemmons. There are also 2 tight ends in the NFL, both named Zach Miller and both wear #86. The 'other' one plays for the Bears.
Strange, but true.
