RB L. Jam James requested the Niners trade him, so the Niners waived him
We are in a car way back, but if he survives waiver claims the Hawks should scoop him up.
He never seemed to fit with Harbaugh and his system.
And he's a small running back by Hawk standards.
But, he is a punt returner and a burner with a style not unlike that of Mr. Harvin.
Mr. Big Play belongs right here.

I'm on board with the Harbaugh conspiracy. But don't care Walters can return punts. We have enough RBs.

Goodell shouldn't allow the tampering by the Harbaugh brothers but Roger has more important problems with the Ravens to deal with right now.

No thanks.
Hard to justify a roster spot for a guy who would only be returning punts and maybe play some ST coverage. Philly is a place where he could end up.

That's the problem. We already have 3 running backs, IMO James would have to do something else besides return punts if we want to dedicate a roster spot to him.
Here's a thought...not a suggestion, but a thought. Is there any chance that the Hawks deal either Turbin or Michael to the Ravens? It seems like having those two on the roster ties up a spot like we used to have available with Leon Washington.

Even IF that was a possibility, James asked for his release because he was buried on the depth chart, and would be again if Seattle brought him in, so I'm not sure why anyone would be even thinking that this was a good idea. I haven't seen anything that leads me to believe he will be the same player at the NFL level that he was in college, so I'm really not sure why anyone that is a Hawks fan would want to give up on Turbin or Micheals for strictly a number three or four RB that can adequately return punts.

Maybe he wanted to get out before the ship sank.

OBS, my slow and old is reinforced as my brain cannot accept that no team claimed him.
Either there is some stealth about a problem with him ... since the Niners claimed they tried to unload him last year and this year ... my eyes and brain are in a deception, rather than a perception pattern on this matter.
All that Oregon film and SF film as well doubts the landscape of NFL rosters.
There is something poison, evidently, since he runs fast, catches well, and blocks ok for a small guy (even though the Niners didn't keep him in any play just to block).
Turbin has had one good game and three throw outs, counting the pre-season.
Walters is mediocre at best (and they still have an extra WR in the 53).
And they are looking at another OL, DL, and TE in walk-up workouts on yeserday's Tuesday.
And they can't be overwhelmed with Earl fielding punts.
I just don't get it.
