Will Philip Rivers throw to Richard Sherman's side of the field?

I don't think there's any question about it, especially considering all the sh*t Rodgers has taken this week.

Seattle has beaten the likes of Manning, Rodgers, and Brady over the past couple of years. As a classic passing QB they will be facing probably the biggest gunslinger of the bunch Sunday. Rivers is cocky, brash, fearless and tough as a 2 dollar steak. That all being said he will throw at Sherman. He will win some and lose some.

This is a quality opponent. I will feel really happy if the Hawks get to the bye at 3 and 0.

ESPN's Fist Take, Stephen A, gave Rogers an "F" grade for being a "coward" and not throwing towards Sherman. Ouch! Rivers has to be feeling the pressure....

Easy to call someone a coward when you have never done their job!!!! Maybe it was a smart move......and AR saved the team 2 int's and a Defense TD by not by not throwing Sherms way. If that happened the douche would have gave him an "F" For throwing to Sherm.

That's the real thing to keep in mind here, if Rodgers had thrown at Sherman, and Sherman had picked him off, we'd all be hearing what a moron Rodgers is for throwing at him.
There is nothing the Packers could have done that would have satisfied the media in that regard.

Personally I think it's stupid to just cede half the field to the leagues best defense. Avoiding Sherman like the plague may seem smart, but you just cannot win playing scared.
But again, no matter what they had done, since they lost, they were going to get ripped. The media DESPERATELY wanted the discount double golden boy to beat those loud mouthed jerks from Seattle, and in their extreme disappointment, they will throw their hero under the bus.

Now Rivers will basically HAVE to throw Sherman's way at least a couple of times.
This is nothing but good for the Seahawks whether they do or whether they don't. If they challenge Sherman, it's likely he'll get a pick or otherwise make a big play (it's what he does), and if they don't, then they'll cede half the field to the leagues best defense, and it will cost them, and we'll get to hear how great Sherman is for yet another week.

All of this is win-win for us.

Excellent post.

I'd almost bet that the Charger's first play from scrimmage on Sunday will be a pass play to the right side and that Rivers will intentionally air mail it just to get rid of the distraction early.

If Rivers plays Sherman's area of operation... How will WR's Malcom Floyd #80 and Keenan Allen #13 fare against our play maker?

Anxious to see how Walters does replacing Thomas on returns. Frees up Thomas from undue injury, and give Walters ample opportunity to show everyone what he can do. Walters has skill, but lacks experience here in Seattle. Looks like that is going to change.

Here are some examples of what Walters can do... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8gV_ITU6Weg

I'm wondering if Walters will have any insights for our game against the Chargers, being that he played for them. Shoot, he scored on a return against us when he did. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oGzayJnYux0

Bump..
In the immediate aftermath of the GB game I had illusions of 19-0. Then I started looking at the week 2 opponent and started fretting. My worst fears were realized. All the sh*t talking got stuffed in their face by the best trash talking QB in the league and he can back it up too.

I did not see that outcome in my forethought. I expected turnovers, but in our favor. Richard Sherman, Kam Chancellor, and many others did not play to their standard. The pressure on Russell Wilson, and lack of protection from the "O" line, was hard to watch. Scorching heat was a factor on both teams, but SD played acclimated. We looked flatfooted, lethargic, and slow. But I was proud to see we played with unyielding heart, and even with all these negative still made it a close and exciting game...

That was the amazing thing and the feel good takeaway. Seattle got dominated six ways to Sunday and still had the ball with the game on the line. It reminded me of the Rams game last year until the end. Seattle comes out flat, gets punched in the nose and pushed around all night and its a W. Tampa was another game I attended that was similar. But this time it caught up with them. Micheal Bennett, now there's a man I will say. That guy didn't quit. Wilson made something out of nothing a few times. Kearse is getting to be big time.Harvin clearly is a deadly weapon if Bevell doesn't get greedy and get away from fundamentally sound schemes like yesterday. Lynch looked great when he got the ball which wasn't often enough.

They better be ready for a war next Sunday cause this one aint going to be like Feb 2nd....

I wouldn't go so far as saying he's my all time favorite, but I really like Michael Bennett. He answers the questions honestly and objectively, gives his opponents credit when it's due, doesn't make excuses. I've seen him in a couple other interviews and my impression is that he's a down to Earth nice guy, a guy worth our respect. I'm very much appreciative of the fact that he decided to come back to be with us rather than selling himself off to the highest bidder.

Bennett is awesome. Were so lucky....He played the same way in their last loss vs AZ. Guys were looking defeated and Bennett was frigging vibrating he was so fired up. It was a credit to Rivers that he hung on to the ball when Bennett got a full whack on it while being held.
Interesting BTW the reporter prefaced his questions with a comment that Rivers was potentially HOF caliber or words to that effect so I guess I'm not the only one who feels that way..........
