There is nothing the Packers could have done that would have satisfied the media in that regard.
Personally I think it's stupid to just cede half the field to the leagues best defense. Avoiding Sherman like the plague may seem smart, but you just cannot win playing scared.
But again, no matter what they had done, since they lost, they were going to get ripped. The media DESPERATELY wanted the discount double golden boy to beat those loud mouthed jerks from Seattle, and in their extreme disappointment, they will throw their hero under the bus.
Now Rivers will basically HAVE to throw Sherman's way at least a couple of times.![]()

This is nothing but good for the Seahawks whether they do or whether they don't. If they challenge Sherman, it's likely he'll get a pick or otherwise make a big play (it's what he does), and if they don't, then they'll cede half the field to the leagues best defense, and it will cost them, and we'll get to hear how great Sherman is for yet another week.
All of this is win-win for us.

As a classic passing QB they will be facing probably the biggest gunslinger of the bunch Sunday. Rivers is cocky, brash, fearless and tough as a 2 dollar steak. That all being said he will throw at Sherman. He will win some and lose some.
This is a quality opponent. I will feel really happy if the Hawks get to the bye at 3 and 0.
#37 wrote:I did not see that outcome in my forethought. I expected turnovers, but in our favor. Richard Sherman, Kam Chancellor, and many others did not play to their standard. The pressure on Russell Wilson, and lack of protection from the "O" line, was hard to watch. Scorching heat was a factor on both teams, but SD played acclimated. We looked flatfooted, lethargic, and slow. But I was proud to see we played with unyielding heart, and even with all these negative still made it a close and exciting game...

He answers the questions honestly and objectively, gives his opponents credit when it's due, doesn't make excuses. I've seen him in a couple other interviews and my impression is that he's a down to Earth nice guy, a guy worth our respect. I'm very much appreciative of the fact that he decided to come back to be with us rather than selling himself off to the highest bidder.
