I use to post on the old Seattle PI board (if anyone remembers). I'm here to give my perspective on yesterday's game. First, obviously I'm happy with the result. But, weren't for an incredible Special Teams performance the Hawks win this game. The 2nd half woes for the Rams defense nearly did them in again and I put that clearly on the shoulders of the DC, Greg Williams. He has been a total disaster for the Rams, imo. Keep in mind, up until yesterday's game the Rams had 1 sack!! ONE! The same team last year led the league in sacks and had the sack leader..Quinn. Under Williams, not only have sacks dried up...players have regressed in his system. But Williams biggest failure is being unable to make proper adjustments. Yesterday marked the 3rd game this season where the Rams have been completely out-coached in the 2nd half. Players out of position...poor tackling...unable to apply consistent pressure on the QB. Luckily for the Rams, they made some plays on Special Teams and Austin Davis (The Anti-Bradford) was his steady self. But it sure wasn't because of the defense, imo.
As for my take on the Hawks as a team? First, Seattle has been hit by the injury bug. It's hard to win in this league when your team is missing a bunch of players. Trust me, I know. The Rams always seem to be w/o key players. Also, where is your pass rush?? Austin Davis was never really pressured yesterday and I hate to say it, but the Rams O line isn't very good (they probably had their best game yesterday, however). Is Bruce Irvin not panning out? Lastly, Russell Wilson is incredible. As long as you have that guy under center? The Hawks will always be in the game. Also, he's a class act. I watched him after the game congratulating Rams players..especially, Austin Davis. So impressive. Anyone who dissess this kid on this board is a troll.
Good luck against the Panthers.
