That's exactly what he's becoming.
I'd argue that right now, he's our best O-Linemen, he's certainly our most durable at this point.

Sweezy is quietly putting together a very, very nice year.

To be fair Monkey Wilson was singing his praise before you, and claiming he would one day be in the HOF..... Not that it matters much to me, as I was also on his boat ( as well as others that have shown marked improvement as well) and IMHO he is currently the best lineman, though with all the injuries again, not sure that bar is to much to reach for the guy.

I honestly DO like this line moving forward ( as long as they can find a way to stay healthy) .

When RW has longer than 2 seconds to throw from the pocket, it sticks out.

And that's not a good thing, because the signature of our pass protection has seen our QB running for his life most of the time.

I like Sweezy and his effort, but Pete needs to bring in some major, legit competition next spring for longterm answers concerning our OL. It's a tiresome topic, but it's broken and needs to be fixed.

Before an offensive line can gel, you need the pieces in place to make worth gellin'. We ain't there yet, but Sweezy may turn out to be the answer for his spot. Okung has a lot to prove, IMO, and maybe Britt turns into something as well. But if we had a consistent pocket for Wilson to throw from, our offense would be so much better.

Meanwhile, just gotta do best they can like last year. We're on pace to surrender fewer sacks than 2013, but the D's production has also fallen off dramatically in that area.

Sweezy has been pretty good so far this year. I think it helps playing alongside Britt for 8 games as they can start to develop a trustful working relationship, and when Unger is in he has played quite a few games with him, too.
Talking of Britt, he has been a surprise, too. He's made his share of mistakes, but he's a rookie going against some of the best players in the world and they are going to make their plays.
I think the future is bright for him.

I'm not sure what the long term holds for Carpenter or Okung. At times Carp shows real ability and sometimes he seems to disappear. Okung has next year left on his current contract and considering his injury history, I doubt he will be offered anywhere near the same amount of money.
Will we be looking for a starting calibre LT in 2016 and should we be preparing for that anyway considering he can't seem to stay healthy?

I'd like to think they would put more emphasis on the OL in this off season as it really is the weakest link on the team and one of the most important.

If they're going to pay RW all the money that we certainly expect them to then they had better fix the O-line. I have a feeling that if RW does indeed have the ear of the FO like all of the articles being posted would have you believe, then I'll bet he has let them know that he would like a touch more protection once the ball is snapped.

Well Sherrod was realeased today, some on here clamored for the guy coming out in the 11' draft instead of Carpenter, as well as Carimi, both have been released by their drafting team, so I suppose they can give him a looksee if they want to ( though i doubt they will, just like they were not interested in Carimi either) as he obviosly wasn't all that impressive. Who knows, maybe he can have a career revival. ( although I suppose you have to have a career to begin with, to do that)...

Just will never be as down on the players on this line as others, if for no other reason, than the talent pool you are selecting from does indeed effect the talent you ultimately get out of it, and IMHO, they have found a few gems ( sweezy and Britt) as well as some serviceable players ( Carpenter, Bailey) and someone that could be great, maybe ( Okung) which is pretty damn good IMO. Especially considering the amount of mediocre to downright poor players that have come out of those drafts ( like sherrod and Carimi)...

OL is always a work in progress. Very few teams have the luxury of not having to mess with it during the regular season, and I get that we have some decent prospects in the making.

It's just something that has to be looked at constantly in Seattle. We make do with what we got, but I believe more can (and will) be done next offseason. It's a tough puzzle to solve. An OL can be solid in one system but a washout in another. Key is to find the pieces that make the most sense for our team.

We're gettin' there, but I suspect they'll be a whole lot more combos implemented before Pete has his picture complete.
