It appears Trump will sell out both the South Koreans and the Japanese . He will pull all troops out of both South Korea and Japan on the "promise" that North Korea will denuclearize.
What a FOOL.
Department of Defense, you have a JOB to do, I suggest you DO IT NOW, while you still can.

You do know that troop withdrawals are not part of any agreement nor was it even discussed with Kim, right?

Buy stock in the company that owns Preparation H because there is going to be a run in exporting thousands of units to Asia, especially South Korea and Japan.
NOTE THE DATE AND TIME that I created this thread, notice it is BEFORE it was announced that Trump on his own decided to first end the ANNUAL JOINT TRAINING exercises, exercises that keep our troops sharp. They won't have to be sharp though IF they are no longer in Korea. Oh, expect that Trump will also announce he will draw down ALL of our military forces from the WESTERN PACIFIC including Japan in a COMPLETE SURREN
Stabbing SK in the back was just too easy a prediction to make, not even a whisper of ESP was needed.
I hope you Trump lovers are happy. Trump has taken this nation to a very DARK PLACE. FOOLS, all of you who REFUSE to speak out!!!!!
It is painfully obvious that Trump takes his orders from Putin in Russia and Xi of China. Everything Trump has been doing IS the bidding of both Russia and China in a TOTAL SURRENDER of EVERYTHING our nation has STOOD FOR and FOUGHJT FOR and BELIEVED IN since the end of WWII.
Putting a "Manchurian Candidate" which is EXACTLY what Russian intelligence did is a HAIL MARY bid to change the FACT that we in the West won the Cold War.
SHAME on those in the GOP that continue to follow a TRAITOR POTUS. Shame on EVERYONE in this FORUM who continue to be SILENT while ABOMINATIONS are being perpetrated by the Trump Admin. in every Americans name!!!
Shame on you too Yoder for all of the times that you have ERASED my posts because you didn't AGREE with the POLITICS of my posts.
One more thing; Trump is NOT GOD and he is NOT to be worshipped as GOD! The people that worship Donald J. Trump are an especially EVIL group of people and they love to EMULATE Mr. Trump by attacking and INSULTING anyone who disagrees with Trump. To use one of Trump's favorite quotes, it is DISGUSTING.
There are some Trumplovers that are actually saying that to oppose a Trump initiative is to oppose "God". WHAT?? Have they really gone there? Yes, yes they have.

It's a little early to be declaring this deal to be a disaster.
From what I've read it's largely a commitment towards further talks.
Trump has been consistent in saying SK and Japan should be paying their own way for defense, so it's nothing new about his stance on stopping the joint exercises with SK.
However, if history is any indication, he's dancing with the devil and the verification process will be key.
As well, Kim and past regimes (father and grandfather) have said they envision a united Korean peninsula.
In their minds that would mean a NK ruled country so once the American military leaves, he may attack and overrun SK. He has a huge army so he may be able to do it
quickly using only conventional weapons.
We'll see how it all works out and the details of any type of agreement they have both signed.

Not quite chicken little...
Ending the joint exercises was a easy thing to give up in this discussion since we just ended the annual May exercises and the next scheduled exercises are in Nov. (We've done these exercises in May and Nov every year since I was in the service in the 80's). By the time the Nov exercises are scheduled, we'll know if he is serious about denuking or not.
I know you want him to fail but we gave up nothing and they've agreed to denuke - details to follow... Let the process play out.

I agree the devil will be in the details but I don't think that John Bolton will be duped - he's one of the hardest of hard liners we have.
Also, NK does have a large army but the total population of NK is about 25M people. Seoul alone has 28M people in it. Every male in South Korea is part of their Guard and I've seen them mobilized before when doing exercises there in the 80's. A conventional war with a well fed, well armed, very well supplied South Korea would be a very short war if left to conventional weapons only.
China won't intervene either given our reach from Japan, Guam and sea based forces. Nevertheless, it will be a decade or more before we draw down our troops and the North will be either in an expansion mode with a more open society or they will be starved out by massive sanctions that not even China is fighting.

China and Russia are already lessening the sanctions, and they never really imposed the sanctions they agreed to.
Kim did win big internally, but it remains to be seen if the rest of the world will benefit as well.
Regarding the NK army, they have their guns trained on Seoul and could kill millions in minutes with conventional weapons.
The SK army is very capable, but they don't have the manpower to hold off the NK forces with conventional weapons.
This might be a good time to sell lots of advanced weapons to SK so they at least have a chance, but wars are won on the ground and troop numbers usually matter.

How dare you accuse me of erasing posts because I don't agree with you, that's not how I run this ship pal. The only posts
I have ever removed from this site are ones that are clearly spam. I have moved your political topics from the Seahawk forum to the Off Topic section since they were completely out of place.
I'm tired of warning you...you have been banned once and just recently I gave you a last chance. In other words, don't be surprised to find your account deleted within the next 24 hours. You're out of control.

He hasn't really bothered me in the past but calling everyone a traitor for not agreeing with him was out of control and I'm now thinking he deserves to be gone. I somehow think that's what he wanted anyway.

Not anymore. Bush Jr. and his Defense Secretary Rumsfield proved that wars are not won by manpower. Iraq had a very large military according to statistics. We wasted them easily. You don't even want to be a soldier nowadays against a first world military. It's like being grass against a lawnmower.
Rumsfield stated goal was to reduce the need for manpower in wars. They succeeded and are continuing to advance the idea with robotic systems that are only going to become more advanced. Thus NK's ability to kill millions in seconds will depend on how fast we can knock out their weapon systems, infrastructure, and people, which as you saw with Iraq we can do very quickly. We likely have all of North Korea mapped out and ready for bombing. We likely keep maps on nearly every nation in the world in a database for bombing if we require it. Manpower is not what it used to be with the weapons modern day militaries have access to.
I'm still surprised people look at manpower, especially in nations like North Korea where mandatory service is compulsory and all but a handful of military people are undertrained, undersupplied, and military on paper only. The effective size of North Korea's military is smaller than the United States. They are also not as accustomed to war as the United States since we consistently fight wars about once ever decade or so. For a nation encouraging peace, we're the most war-tested of the first world nations.

Is anyone else amused by the hilarity of this situation? We had a summit between two men that may have been arranged and helped by one man that is a friend of both of them: Dennis Rodman.
In another "Only in America" moment can a real estate mogul, reality TV star president have a summit with a crazy, violent, oppressive dictator who both share a friendship with a cross-dressing, oddball former NBA champion basketball player named Dennis "The Worm" Rodman. Regardless of what happens by the end of the run, this is going to be one of the most memorable presidencies in history.
Future writers will at some point have a field day with this presidency. You can't imagine some of this stuff and the characters involved. It's just too nutty.

You're right. It is hilarious when you step back and look at it all from that PoV.
As well, future writers will have more info on what actually went on and the chaos in setting up such a meeting so quickly.
The stories should be fascinating. Too bad I won't live to hear them all from 22nd century perspective.

Yea, it just fits, doesn't it? A POTUS that has enough money to bang any bimbo on the planet, uses Twitter like a butt hurt teenager, changes his mind like most of us change our underwear, faces off with "Rocket Man", or as the Chinese call him, Little Fatty. Lord help us if the fate of the world was in the hands of those two imbecels. Too bad Johnny Carson isn't around anymore. As much as he harpooned Carter and Ford, he'd have to be on the air 24/7 to keep up with the material his writers could feed him about Trump and Kim.
Unfortunetly for me, I won't be around in 50 years when history can judge this period of time.

They will need a John Waters type of director to make films and TV shows about the Trump Era. Porn stars, angry women and homosexual people, cross-dressing NBA players as friends with the president and a dictator, lots of Twittering, and general insanity, all involving a president that sits on a gold throne and is married to a former Eastern European model. This would be such an insanely entertaining film. Future people might not believe it or even worse, it will seem tame compared to how they live in the future.

North and South Korea are meeting to discuss how to reunite families that have been separated by the war. This will be the biggest PR move helping the Denuclearization and the N. Koreans to come into the nation of states.
I was watching a show the other day where they were interviewing a former N. Korean lady (a book was written about her calling her the girl with 7 names) who was saying in the interview that while she lived in N. Korea she actually believed that it was "paradise." She said that she had no clue how the rest of the world was living.
