A Final Note to Seahawks4Ever

Seahawks4Ever,

It has become crystal clear to me that you have zero respect for this community/family. You have been offered multiple chances, yet it seems like you just go on like the basic Terms of Use and forum etiquette don't apply to you. The insults to the members here (including myself) are completely uncalled for.

You were given one last chance, two weeks later I'm accused of deleting posts that you think I don't agree with. This is completely untrue, I'm sure any Shack member here would agree. This is definitely slander and borderline defamation of character.

I have (along with Mak) worked hard to keep this community active and intact...to be a good, fair, transparent and honest administrator/moderator of this forum. I'd like to think that I've been more than fair with you, yet you keep throwing stones straight into my face. It sucks that you have put me in this position since the one thing that bonds us all is the love for our team. At the end of the day, with multiple warnings, the ball was in your court.

Your account has been permanently deleted. If you try to create another account, it will be instantly deleted as well, so don't waste your time (or mine). I'm retaining your posts for a historical account of what has been exchanged, a reference to look back on if/when a situation like this arises again.

To the Shackers, I'm sorry if I've let this go on for too long. I was simply trying to be kind and forgiving to a fellow Hawk fan, which obviously did not work. I hope you all agree this was handled in a fair matter, if not please let me know. If it wasn't handled soon enough, let me know as well!

Sincerely,

Yoder

Yoder, this is only my opinion, but it shouldn't have to be up to you to have to delete troll accounts like his. We're adults and the forum offers an effective way to ignore them, and even if that still allows them to be quoted into our feeds, I maintain an adult should be capable of ignoring it the old fashioned way.

Your 'duties', such as they are, should be limited to having to address spam accounts, where they make it tough to read the forum by posting spam threads... things like that.

Anyway, that's my 2c. Thanks for keeping the lights on and the floor clean. :)

[edit]

I'll add: I realize you may have other reasons than member happiness to delete him (eg. he was attacking you personally), so if that was the impetus, ignore me.

I have no issue on how you handled it Yoder. I think you were fair and in the end, firm. Thank you for giving us an outlet to have civil discourse.

I have a difference of opinion from my friend burrton. Yes, we are all adults and can ignore comments or simply let them roll off our backs, but there is a place for moderators like Yoder and Mak. I don't like personal slanders even if they are not directed at me, and it's my opinion that allowing them to continue unabated to violate the TOS, it discourages participation from others that might be reading our comments and contemplating putting in their own 2 cents worth. When someone repeatedly crosses the line, we need someone with the authority to take action.

Thanks, Yoder and Mak, for keeping this place respectful. I really think S4E had some sort of death wish, that he wanted to get banned. I can think of no other reason why he'd keep violating the TOS.

I'm not normally for banning. This went beyond disagreement. S4E would post some long tirade with a general insult for everyone, then get more personal with those that disagreed with him as though they were some criminal traitor. That was a level of ridiculous that has no place on a board that encourages discussion. It's no longer a discussion where the option is "agree with me or you are a traitor/not a hawk fan/bad person" or the like. That reaches a point where a guy is trying to Internet intimidate people in a very pathetic, trollish manner. Once you have too many of those types of around, you don't have a real forum anymore, you have a troll cave.
