c_hawkbob's annual Three Deep Mock 2025

Postby c_hawkbob » Mon Apr 07, 2025 6:47 am

Looks like it's that time again! I like to get these out at least a couple weeks before the draft to give everyone a chance to participate.

Scoring:
- 1 point for each player that we draft
- 1 point for the correct round drafted with an additional 1/2 point for having them listed first in that round
- 1/2 point for each player from your mock that we sign as UDFA’s
- This is a NO TRADES contest. As we are scoring on the number of names from your mock we actually draft everybody has to have the same set of picks to work with.
- It's also based on the picks we have on the books as of this date.

Here's mine:

Round 1 (18)
1- Tyler Booker, G, Alabama

2- Emeka Egbuka, WR, Ohio St
3- Nic Scourton, DE/EDGE, Texas A&M

Round 2 (50)
1- Deone Walker, DT, Kentucky

2- Jihaad Campbell, OLB, Alabama
3- Elijah Arroyo, TE, Miami

Round 2 (52)
1- Jaxon Dart, QB, Ole Miss

2- Jonah Savaiinaea, OL, Arizona
3- Colston Loveland, TE, Michigan

Round 3 (82)
1- Jordan Phillips, NT, Maryland

2- Kelvin Banks, OL, Texas
3- Cam Skattebo, RB, Arizona St

Round 3 (92)
1- Matthew Golden, WR, Texas

2- Jamaree Caldwell, DT, Oregon
3- Shavon Revel, CB, East Carolina

Round 4 (137)
1- Marcus Mbow, OL, Purdue

2- Tyler Shough, QB, Louisville
3- Jaylin Noel, WR, Iowa State

Round 5 (172)
1- Cobee Bryant, CB, Kansas

2- Fadil Diggs, Edge, Syracuse
3- Craig Woodson, S, California

Round 5 (175)
1- Dallin Holker, TE, Colorado State

2- Quincy Riley, CB, Louisville
3- Upton Stout, CB, Western Kentucky

Round 7 (223)
1- Tyrion Ingram-Dawkins, DT, Georgia

2- Jailin Walker, LB, Indiana
3- Drew Kendall, C, Boston College

Round 7 (234)
1- Brant Kuithe, TE/FB, Utah

2- Xavier Truss, OG, Georgia
3- Kyle Monangai, RB, Rutgers

Bob is really believing in his theory with Schneider picking a guard in the first round.

What would be interesting on your board, if they did draft Cobee Bryant, and we would have two of them on our defense.

Yeah I couldn't resist putting him on my board for that very reason. He did an interview during the combine after visiting with the Seahawks and they brought it up then.

Yes sir, I believe it has become almost an imperative if he wants to keep his job for much longer.

It will be an interesting draft from that perspective. Will JS follow his core beliefs or will he cave in to the pressure?
The meat of this draft is the 2nd to 4th rounds so he should find one, but the question in my mind is will he wait to the 3rd or pull the trigger earlier.

I wish I had the time to do the 7, but I didn't follow college enough to get by the first round this year.
I don't see JS drafting a IOL #1. We might WISH he would, but that's not his DNA.

What I do see is one of the 3 top receivers -- from Ohio State, AZ or Texas going to us to replace DK. We didn't bring Darnold in (and probably promised him) to not have a good receiving corp. Sorry, but Kupp is a nice story, but he's past his #1, #2 or even maybe #3 level, so WR is our most pressing need.
All 3 of those receivers seem to be in most mock drafts, in some order, in the first round, so the talent should be there.

We can go IOL in the 2nd (if JS doesn't draft a RB or trade the picks) or 3rd. We have 5 top 100 picks. That's a good stash for this draft. IOL doesn't seem to be a very good year for draft prospects.

I'm not going to be able to participate this year. It's a lot of work, and I've had a lot going on which has affected my ability to make enough time to give it the proper attention it deserves without engaging in some sort of plagiarism. But I do want to thank C-bob for organizing this contest.

You're welcome guys and no problem Riv, it's all for fun anyway, not an assignment that counts toward your final grade.

Anyone else wants to play be sure to get it in before the first overall pick, not just our first pick.

Well, this is my first year ever making a mock (in any capacity), so we should be net-even in the thread.
