that missed FG was huge

So was the safety

We might also add the FG early instead of the TD.
Had any one of those gone in our favor (or we had executed properly) and we wouldn't have needed O/T.

FG's are frustrating, to be sure, because our offense is still trying to find their way.

But they did it when it counted - OT.

Awesome that Manning didn't even get the chance to take the field after regulation.

Go Seahawks!!!!

Frickin' a. I have a sore throat and I scared the hell out of my poor dog. Specifically, I yelled at these points:

1. Fumble overturn
2. Phil Simms talking
3. Chancellor's INT
4. Wilson's INT
5. The safety
6. The prevent offense. WTF was up w/ the play calling. I'm soooo glad bevel found his courage in OT
7. Settling for a FG
8. Missing the FG
9. The entire last 59 seconds of regulation
10. All my idiot friends who thought it was a good idea to call/text during the last minute and in overtime.

WHEW! Denver looks really improved, but I think a couple a things, done differently, and we win by more. Duh.

lol, sis.

I've found that the less I freak out during games, the better they go.

But it's Damn hard to do, especially late 4th or in OT:)

This game was so up and down, I'm wondering how it would have played out in their house....we barely squeaked by. However, we held one of the top QB's of all time to 3 points for the majority of the game. Even if we lost, that would be something to be proud of. Not sure if it was half time adjustments or if our D just got tired during the 4th quarter.

Anyway, proud of the Hawks and I think Wilson proved himself today in a high pressure situation. I just hope the F.O. realizes that...and please, please, please don't turn him into a cute receiver. Worst/best play of the game.

There woulda been plenty of blame to go around had we dropped this one - the D for giving up the final drive in regulation, the offense for getting FG's instead of a TD, Hauschka for missing (for him) a gimme, and some strange play calling by Bevell in 2nd half.

Definitely some things to work on, but the Seahawks showed why they are clutch. Great final drive, with the best decision making QB to lead the way.

Great win against a quality opponent, good way to go into the bye. We have played 3 good teams and 2 HOF qb's and are 2-1. I like where we are sitting right now. I still feel wishy washy about Bevell and his play calling, too many weapons to have that many stalled drives, although I have a feeling that he Broncos and Chqrgers will have two of the better D's in the AFC when it is all said and done. The D really played great today, only giving up 18 points to that offense, is impressive.

If we would have had to play the blame game you certainly would have to throw RW's INT in there as well. I know tipped pass, great play by Talib, etc but those are mistakes that he just doesn't make and it shows you why Pete hates TO's so much. Once again the team that wins the TO battle won the game. Before you read this and get mad, Anthony, just calm down. It is ok to admit he made a mistake too tight of a window in that situation. On the other had he was sensational in OT and I still wouldn't take him over anybody.

Hate sounding like a whiner after a win but, that game seriously ticked me off!
It never should have gotten that close, and wouldn't have were it not for a couple of REALLY bad calls. The one that just kicks me in the gonads though is the fumble recovery that was overturned...are you FREAKING KIDDING ME?!?
How in the world was there indisputable evidence that he didn't make a "football move"? He CLEARLY made a football move, it was GLARINGLY apparent.
That was pure garbage, and I'm still irked about it.

While I'm at it, I have to ask because I looked away from the TV just as the "pick" happened, but why didn't Chancellor get that first pick he made? Was that one also overturned? If so, was it legit? I cannot say for certain, I just didn't get a great look at it, but when the play originally happened, I thought it looked like an INT, (of course I was also hoping it was, so...yeah...Biased :)

The first Int clearly hit the ground. Was a good call. Looked close in really time, but was obvious in replay.

Dude I actually Agree on the RW INT and was screaming that is was a dumb choice. That said I can live with a 6/1 td/in ratio, that can also lead a comeback like Rw can.

You do know Wilson has already ?proven" himself time and time again, I he is tied for the most 4th qtr/OT/comeback victories in the last 3 seasons.

Whatever happens, I hope that Bevel and the Hawks in general, get back that "killer" instinct. The one that has you put your foot on the back of a teams neck, and never lets up. Bevel sometimes ( at least it seems to me) reigns the dogs in far, far to early ( usually between 10 and 13 points) he's done it in the past, and NOTHING pisses me off more than the "play not to lose" plan the Hawks seem to go into the second they get a two score lead ( usually ten points) We all KNOW how good that defense is, but they aren't impossible to score on, nor can they stay on the field the entire game.

I agree it was a catch/fumble, since we've seen that kind of play been ruled plenty of times as such.

Overall, though, I think we've benefited more often than not with ref calls so far this season. We got away with a big one when they picked up the flag on what was clearly offsides by us on 3rd down (which would've given Denver a 1st).

The game should not have been as close as it was, but we also got the chance to see this team respond to a wake up call and win it in OT.

Denver hung in there. They were patient and managed to tie it up. I was actually surprised that we managed to take the opening drive in 5th quarter and win it. We had been so stagnant to that point.

The bottom line is RW. The kid is simply one of the best decision making QB's in the NFL right now, maybe the best.

Yup, and personally wouldn't trade him for any other QB currently playing because of that. Old or yound, not Luck, not Manning, not Brady, and not Rodgers, Brees, name him, not a single one. Kid is simply clutch, smart and insanely calm and collected . Simply no other QB I can think of playing right now, that seems to not only accept the biggest moments, but thrive in those moments.

Wilson is simply special.

I agree about the catch/fumble, and said so earlier in the thread. The receiver had clear possession, had turned and made "a football move" by starting to run. But that call didn't really hurt us as we subsequently forced them to punt then went on to score a TD anyway. It ended up costing us some yardage and Denver time on the clock.

I agree with Zorny that if anything, we've been the beneficiary of bad calls this season more so than we have the victim. That offside penalty they missed on us came at a critical time in the game, on a 3rd and short with Denver driving. It's hard to see how they could miss a penalty like that, one ref saw it and threw the flag and the other talked him out of it.

Seeing some of the complaints about the O play calling confirms what my eyes are telling me. Pre season and game one against the Pack we saw all of these dynamic packages featuring Harvin (fly sweep, bubble screens, run plays etc.) and now not so much. What the heck? It's as if Bevel is playing "we know that you know that we know that you know" thing instead of just running the damn offense and making the opposing defenses try and figure it out and adjust. We have a multi faceted offense and it seems our tendency is to make it milquetoast so that the rest of the league's DC's won't have film of it. Come on, man! Just run the offense and continue to build on it. Remember all that talk about how having Percy doing his thing would allow Lynch to do his thing so that RW and the receiving corps (which of course includes Percy doing even more of his thing)? DO THAT!!
