I think it's time to discuss................................................................................
Our problems with the offensive and defensive lines.

For a Coach who's programme is built primarily on competition, a player that decides he doesn't want to compete during a game is someone who can't fit in.
If he were to be permitted to stay, other players would think that the competition mantra was fake, so Harvin had to go.

To me that is alarming when 2 guys who just got paid think its OK for Harvin to sit himself, assault teammates, etc. Truly sacrificing for the team has become a lost tradition. It has been more widely reported that many Hawks players are annoyed with Wilson due to him not being "black enough", taking enough responsibility for his mistakes, his close relationship with the FO, and his rah rah"Go Hawks" public personna. I dunno, the more I watch this team I think without Wilson they are a bunch of 6-10 7-9 stiffs. These guys ought to STFU, get in line and follow the leader.
I hope this thing isn't going to come completely apart but my guess is a couple of more losses and things are going to get ugly. Hawks better win starting now or we will be saying it was great while it lasted but Harvin killed the future.

HumanCockroach wrote:Really? The NFL Network is your primary news source? Now I'm ROTFLMFAO.... smh. It's about ratings man, and last I checked, nothing draws ratings like a good drama. At this point NOTHING is relevant except what happens tomorrow, and then the next day, and then the next. Focussing on a bunch of unsubstantiated, rumor, innuendo and lies, isn't productive for anyone, especially NOT the players.
Whether Sherman or Thomas, saw something, or simply dismissed it ( fights happen in EVERY locker room in the NFL, college) has no baring on how the do moving forward. The made up horseshite regarding Wilson is ridiculous, and IMHO bald faced lie, and if not, they need to jettison those players as well. Wilson is the perfect face of the franchise. Good player, good leader, well spoken and more importantly a good human being, if that means he isn't "black enough" then so the F what? Dude plays winning football, is a QB that has never before seen on a football field in the NFL, and he does so consistently. I have NEVER heard him deflect blame ONCE, ( which should perfectly exemplifie how big of a load of Shiite that is) and I've never heard a single peep from another player either. Ultimately this is Wilson's team ( period) moving forward, and players are either ON BOARD or they are GONE, it's that simple. ET and Sherman KNEW that when they signed, so even eluding to a rift there is silly.
When they signed, they KNEW he was the future of this franchise, and simply NO amount of respect or liking of Harvin would have changed that in the least.
Ignore the noise, it will be there a bit longer, but when they are winning regularly it will a bunch of nothing.
HumanCockroach wrote:Look at it this way, it would have DEFINITELY gone sideways if they hadn't made this move ( and obviously already had somewhat, or no move would have been made in the first place), so, move forward, and I expect the players to do the same. Simply don't see this as a team to implode over a receiver that ultimately averaged 33 Yards and 4 catches a game. Harvin IS a premier "talent" no matter what anyone says, but IMHO he is NOT a talent the Hawks "have" to have to win. Baldwin, Kearse BOTHad fantastic second halves in STL and I would wait a couple weeks to see if that is going to become par for the course, or if it was a "rare" instance ( something tells me the former) before sweating all the ratings graabbing rumors swirling around right now. WAY more concerned with an interior pass rush making a GD appearance at some point this season, then articles about how black Wilson is.
