Sundays game

Postby Hawktawk » Fri Oct 31, 2014 1:17 pm

I hate playing winless teams, especially this late in the season. And the Raiders haven't won in over a calendar year. They are going to beat someone at some point. A year ago I attended the Tampa game and was a bit uneasy playing a supposed patsy. We all saw how it turned out, an overtime nail biter. If that's what happens Sunday I'll take it but a loss would be a disaster. Hawks need to punch these guys right in the mouth and stomp on their windpipe immediately. Something tells me letting these guys hang around would be a bad thing. This IS their Superbowl. Be ready Hawks!!!!!

The ever expanding list of walking wounded, isn't giving me a warm and fuzzy feeling either. adding guys like Okung, sherman, chancellor etc, etc, etc with those already missing is cause for concern. This if no other reason is why I am so incredibly strongly opposed to the bye week so early in a season. NO bye should be before week six at it's earliest, and simply not later than week ten or eleven at it's latest. IMHO early byes are one of the worst scheduling snafus available ( that and multiple ten am games in consecutive weeks for a west coast team). Luckily Seattle got both :(

Nobody likes to play an 0-for-the-season team entering week 9, because that team will get a win eventually, and you don't want it to be you.

That said, I don't think Oakland is poised to get it in Seattle, no matter how many guys we have banged up entering the game. On that note, the Raiders have some health issues themselves, with Carlos Rogers likely to be out as well.

Raider games are on down here every week, and they continually shoot themselves in the foot on a regular basis. They have played hard, but seldom smart, and are at a big disadvantage coming into Seattle after losing in Cleveland. I'm not taking them lightly, and I'm confident the Seahawks aren't, either.

I see us regaining some home mojo - something we haven't seen since we beat the Packers and Broncos (even if it was OT) - remember those days? Seems like last season already.

I'm calling this 33-13. I think that's a bigger margin of victory than I posted on another thread, lol. I just see us putting a good game plan together, doing a much better jop in the TOP department, and capitalizing on a few Raider mistakes while avoiding short field disasters of our own.

A win is a win, but I think we have a solid chance of turning this into a blow out. Bottom line is our guys will be treating the opponent with respect, because we have little margin for error if we hope to be back in the postseason.

I'd be surprised if Hawks do not win by at least two scores. Oakland's LBs are terrible. They are consistently out of position. Their Dline is not creating any push whatsoever. This could be a 150+ yd game for Lynch and probably a couple deep shots for Wilson.

I'll go 28-14 Seattle with Oakland posting a late garbage time TD.

This game worries me too. The injury list w/'Schilling, Okung, Carp, Unger, miller, Coleman, Bam-Bam, Maxi, Lane, Simon, Sherman. Shiiiiiiit! Even this lack I depth I keep harping on wouldnt cover this. I know some will play, but we are pretty banged up.

This is the one week I won't be rooting for Derek Carr this's year (even though I hate the Raiders, I love my bulldogs).

Go Hawks

Lots of injuries on Defense and our Offense hasn't been able to dominate consistently for 3 years, so there's no expectation on my part that things will change.
I think it will be close and hope we can pull out a win - that is unless our Offense finally gets its act together.

Yep, pretty much what I said all of last season ( after stealing it from Schlereth) punch them in the face, punch them in the face, and then win. Tomorrows game, it's paramount IMHO to do just that. Hit them so hard and so often early, that they simply quit. something they did often last season, and this year, has been inconsistent, to almost non existent for the most part. The Hawks have to find that 'nasty' again IMO.
