I really am surprised that Wilson's accuracy still hasn't come around. It's unusual to see him have this kind of slump.
Kevin Pierre-Lewis had a terrific game. Nearly every time he's on the field, he seems to be flying around making plays.
IMO he's already a MUCH, MUCH better LB than Malcolm Smith, and will easily replace him, and in fact upgrade the spot when he leaves next year.
We need a TE who can catch, and receivers who can get open (other than Baldwin), badly. Hopefully eventually between Richardson and Norwood, one or both of them will become that, but as yet, we're completely reliant on running the ball and the occasional pass to an occasionally open target, usually Baldwin.
For all the talk about Andrew Luck and who would trade Wilson for him, I'd sure love to see what Wilson could do with even a tiny fraction of the talent Indianapolis has at the TE and WR positions or a remotely good pass blocking line.
If Mebane is forced to miss significant time, we'll quickly discover just how important a big run stuffing DT who can force double teams truly is. I hate to find out that answer!
I'm glad Kansas City won, because even closer to full strength (which we should be) I really don't like the idea of traveling to
that nasty place while the passing game is in this much of a mess, especially after a loss. This game is going to be tough enough, even if we get close to full strength health wise. I knew the Giants were no match for us, but Kansas City....that team in their noisy stadium worries me.
There's simply no way the team will keep Lynch past this season, it's not going to happen, he'll be payed too much for a RB his age. Still, the drop off to whoever ends up replacing him, will be felt! What Lynch brings to this offense, I'm not sure any other RB I have seen play, EVER, can bring. Lynch truly is amazing, a one of a kind unique talent, the likes of which we may never see again ever.
I suspect it will be Christine Michael who will carry the torch next year, and he's shown enough flashes of a brilliance of his own, that I suspect he will do a fine job, but...he's no Marshawn Lynch. No one is. Or likely ever will be again.
