I still have the montage of all the talking heads praising Manning and predicting a Denver blowout last year. Honestly I dunno myself. I never pick my team to lose.
I just cant get over this gnawing fear of an XL repeat. Seattle has set themselves up for it though with all the penalties throughout the year.Of course I felt the same way last year.
New England is a more formidable opponent though. Nothing could possibly have gone better for Seattle in the Super Bowl last year. I think this might be different.

See this is the part I don't get.
In what way is New England more formidable? Do they possess the single greatest offense to ever play football EVER? Denver did last year.
Statistically Denver was LIGHT YEARS ahead of the Patriots, who are really, just a decent Super Bowl team, nothing special at all when compared to other Super Bowl representatives.
The difference really is in how the Pats match up potentially with us.
The funny part is, people know that NOW, (not to toot my own horn but I was on record ALL YEAR last year saying that the Broncos matched up horribly with us) but before the game, NO ONE thought that the Broncos would get pimp slapped by our defense. Now a whole bunch of Captain Hindsight mediots are running around saying, well obviously this Pats team matches up better than the Broncos did last year.
That does NOT make this Patriots team a great team like the Broncos last year! They're sure as heck not!!
That Broncos team last year broke virtually every offensive record ever, what they were doing was so unprecedented that no one thought they could possibly lose.

Just because a bunch of east coast biased, Brady fanboys in the media want to try to convince everyone that Seattle isn't as good, don't fall for it.

Most experts are predicting a Hawk loss, do the fact that we are wounded and they are much stronger offensively. Last year I felt really good about our chances, this year I just don't. I really really hope I am wrong. Unlike the Broncos they don't have a pedestrian defense.

First, it depends on what you mean by "experts". Most analysts are picking New England, that shouldn't surprise ANYONE that the media thinks Brady is unbeatable.
Most current PLAYERS, however, are picking the Seahawks, and the guys who make their money gambling, the real wise guys, they're all on board the Seahawks just like they were last year.

Second, the Broncos "pedestrian defense"? All we heard leading up to that game was how great that defense had become, with Pot Roast being the greatest thing since sliced bread, and how good they were at stopping the run.
The Patriots have a decidedly, provably, mediocre run stopping defense, one that hasn't really faced a read option like the Seahawks run. The closest thing they've seen this year was when the Dolphins ran the read option in one game, and kicked the crap out of the Pats with it, that's with Tannehill and the Dolphins running backs running the ball NOT Wilson and Beast Mode.

If your head is telling you that the Patriots can handle the Seahawks, then, I got nothing for ya but a sad head shake. You've listened to WAY too much east coast biased media my friend!

For once Monk I hope you are right. You were right on Irvin finally, who btw could have a big game, cause you cant game for him that well. Big late money has flooded to the Hawks in Vegas; more bets for the Pats but the Whales who know, are coming in late for Seattle. All our hopes!!

Happy as a pig in slop that the media has once again deemed to say the Seahawks are going to lose this. Nothing makes me smile more than a whole bunch of people flapping their gums about this team... As for match ups, not sure when a middle of the pack defense became so formidable ( especially one facing a run first team when the have trouble stopping the run, and have trouble running the ball against good run defenses, has everyone already forgotten the Baltimore game?? That certainly wasn't some sort of pasting be the Pats, and the HAD to run tricks to garner that win, let Forsett run all over them, and certainly didn't have the quality in the defnsive backfield to stopTom from throwing the ball 50+ times)....

Bennett, Avril and Irvin are going to create problems for the Pats suspect pass blocking line as well. Tom won't spend all afternoon throwing the ball as Seattle punches the ball down their throats, his "long game" has gone the way of the dodo ( remind anyone of another high profile QB Seattle faced?) And they rely on short throws and yac numbers for ALL of their "big plays" ( again remind anyone of another team?).

Pats have better DB's than Denver did, and a slightly more active LB crew, BUT unless Bellichick can scheme his way to a win, and Tommy dusts off his arm, I just don't see many matchups favoring NE in this game.

This is basically the SAME team that got RAILED against the Bronco's last year, minus an upgraded DB crew and a healthier Gronk ( only OLDER) not sure why people are buying the hype surrounding this SB that is being manufactured, but they are.

Could the Pats win? OF COURSE they can, you don't get to the SB without a "chance"to win, any given Sunday and all that, but unless things go extremely wrong, or unless Bellichick finds some magic fatal flaw, I don't see it happening.

That all said, no matter how "successful" the Patriots are, I'll be content with the Seahawks scoring ONE more point than them. Brady can throw for 900 yards for all I care, as long as when the clock strikes 0:00 and Seattle has one more point, I'll be content and happy.
