I would feel sympathy had he not already had so many other legal prblems before and took time to go to rehab. if he hasn't learned by now maybe he will when he loses a job millions of young men would die for and millions of dollars that go along with it. hopefully he doesn't kill somoene with his stupidty

I'm starting to feel sorry for Tomsula with all the talent that he won't have.
He's really been given a diminished opportunity compared to last years team.

On behalf of the rest of the forum Future, I'd like to offer an truly heartfelt apology for the unfair way we characterized Aldon Smith we should have listened to your reason.

Apparently Aldon Smith snuck out of team meetings early had some sort of altercation with this ex-girlfriend... who just happens to be Colin Kaepernick's current girlfriend. And the end result was the car that was hit they believe was Kaepernick's car and it was struck more than one time before Smith drove away.
What an absolute mess of a soap opera.

NorthHawk wrote:If Smith was charged with DUI, does this mean he was drunk in meetings or did he have a bottle in his car?
The pieces don't quite fit with Clayton's suggestion of the details.
To me, this smells of the media doing a lot of assuming.
I'm not saying he wasn't drunk or didn't do it, rather the story told by Clayton looks suspicious.
On Thursday, August 6, 2015, at about 8:46 PM., Santa Clara Officers were dispatched to Moreland Way to investigate a disturbance involving a collision. On arrival, officers learned Aldon Smith was parking his vehicle and collided with a parked vehicle. After the collision, Smith exited his vehicle and caused additional damage to the parked vehicle with his car door.
Smith then left the area not reporting the collision or leaving his identifying information at the scene. He later returned to the parking area where he was contacted by officers. Smith displayed objective symptoms of being under the influence of an alcoholic beverage. Officers administered a field sobriety test to Smith.
The Seattle Seahawks need a cheap answer to all the high priced signings they have had to make over the past year, and former 49ers' outside linebacker Aldon Smith could be the answer.
It what seemingly seems to a perfect situation, Smith can't stay out of trouble, while the Seahawks do their best work with troubled players.
According to Mike Florio of Profootballtalk.com, the team may pursue Smith

I seem to remember a punter from Denver who according to his agent had a beer and was suspended a couple of years after his treatment.
There will be a large gamble when taking him on by any team because they would be giving up on another player that might otherwise make the team for a number of years.
The risk/reward will have to be in the teams favor and I doubt he will make anywhere near the money he was getting in SF. At least for the first few years if he can hold it together.
I hope he figures it out because he could have it all if he stays straight.
