Going into the week 7 bye

Postby NorthHawk » Mon Oct 15, 2018 1:09 pm

It looks like the OL is getting untracked. The game against the Rams started some momentum and this past game against the Raiders kept it going.
It's good to see the Offense grind out the last minutes of a game and give the Defense some time to rest.
This team has been fun to watch the last 2 weeks after about 4 or so years of ineptitude on Offense.

Injuries:
Tre Flowers only had cramps so he should be OK for next game.
Baldwin got his arm hurt late in the game but it wasn't noted on any injury report I read.
Ed Dickson should be ready for the next game as well.
Vannett missed the game with a back problem. Let's hope it just needs rest.
McKissic is now available. I wonder if they have a spot for him. Would they keep 4 RB's on the game day roster?
Two more weeks for KJ Wright to get healed. Hopefully he will be ready for the last part of the season.

Any more info to add?

Hopefully the coaching staff will use the time to throw a few new wrinkles in the offense. The running game is working, but teams are going to scheme to take it away in the 2nd half of the season. That will make the passing game more important going forward. We will see what they come up with, but I don’t see many changes. Peteball is working now. Russell is at his best (like pretty much any other QB) when the run game is working and the offense is not solely dependent upon him. Keep totin that rock, a well balanced offense is next to godliness. And...for the love of God will someone please rub out Russell’s hammy so we don’t have to see it mentioned 1000+ freaking times in this forum.

Russell has to be listed on the injury report or else Anthony would be denied his pre-registered excuse. If Russell didn't have the hammy excuse to use, he'd have to go back to blaming the offensive line for giving Wilson a cold virus, and cause us even more angst.

Russell has been playing extremely well, though, and can be credited with much of our success over the past 4 games. The entire team can use the bye to get over their various owhies's. They're going to need it as at this point in time, the Raiders have to be one of the worst teams in the league, so I would caution against doing a bunch of backflips over our dominating win last Sunday. The road gets significantly tougher from here on out.

Would love to see Seattle utilize a few more play action passes coming out of the bye... with the success of the running game, the defenses are prime for them.... that doesn't mean the abandonment of the running game however ( as they have been prone to do over the last 3 yrs). In order to succeed, running the ball needs to remain a constant threat.

Yes a rest of the entire team and preparing for the next opponents. Please no craziness by team members and getting a injury or jail. I hope the whole team stays focused and fired up. Spending time with the girlfriend and family will be good for them. I Like this team hope we can continue winning.

He made some huge plays for us last year, when we had no running game at whatsoever. He could be a secret weapon.

I think that what McKissic could bring is he's a small guy behind a huge Oline. I think he could become invisible until he hits the second level and his speed could present a problem after that. Since we have other big backs we could use him in some situations that could be very interesting but not over use him to where he gets hurt. (think of that short small RB for Denver that kept gashing us).

Lindsay? He gets quite a bit of touches actually, both in the run game and the passing game...

Yes, that's who I'm talking about but he probably won't make it through a gruelling 16 game season let alone any playoffs. My point being is that these types of RBs can be very effective if used in a sparingly fashion which reduces their chances of major injury.

I read a comment that he might replace Prosise because they both do similar things and until this year McKissic was available more.
This might be Prosise's last year here simply because he can't stay healthy.

Sad but true, Prosise showed some promise, but if you can't stay on the field promise doe snot help much. Perhaps Mckissic can take over, he too showed promise and did much of the same things. Totally agree on the using sparingly given his size though.

I don't see it!

How you guys going to get to the playoffs?

Looking at your schedule you guys maybe beat SF once and ARZ on Dec 30th for a rousing 5-11 record

have a nice week
