Sherm to return

Postby Hawktawk » Fri Nov 30, 2018 9:13 am

Sherman was popping off all week about getting screwed over by seattle, talking down Wilson, pointing out he's had some 5 int games too, etc.etc. etc.Blah blah blah. Pretty piss poor attitude towards a team that got you a ring and paid you royally.

I'll be at the game and I'm curious what the dynamic will be.Will the fans boo or cheer? I hope for a big win so my best friend on the planet and I can drink and gamble and be happy but I worry a little about complacency and Shermans intricate knowledge of our personnel, particularly Wilson but Baldwin also as well as Carrols mindset etc. Is this a trap game?

Yeah there are alot of sour grapes coming from Sherman. I am not surprised at all. This is who he has been his whole career. I remember telling niner fans who complained about him that I would probably hate him too if he weren't on my team. With that being said he seems to some sort of weird obsession with Wilson. He has thrown him under the bus multiple times and continues to do so. Mentioning his 5 INT game is just petty. I'm surprised he didn't say something like "I've also seen him throw an INT from the 1-yard line..." I don't know if it is jealousy or what but it is weird. On that note Baldwin and Sherm are both stupid if they thought there was any way that the Hawks were going to bring Sherm back at 13 mil dollars this season. I don't have an issue with Sherm being upset about it, but wake up... The Hawks had an out and there was no doubt they were going to use it. Again sour grapes by Sherm...

On another note it will be interesting to see the stories that come out about these Hawks after they are retired. There is a lot of hate towards RW and it's not just on the defensive side. I get the feeling that ADB whines about him too...

It just sounds like the Seahawks are getting free rent in Sherms head this week. We will play our game and it will come out how it comes out.

I remember the rumors swirling around the locker room of a few years ago that Russell "wasn't black enough", which I thought was peroposterous. I sure hope that Sherman wasn't connected to that rumor as it was one of the the most assinine suggestions that I've heard coming out of a locker room.

Nevertheless, I will be in attendance at the game this Sunday and despite Sherman's venom, I plan to cheer when he is announced. Hopefully he's gracious enough to accept a welcome back.

Sherman has RW intimidated now and will get a couple pick 6's

I see us Niners pulling out a close one

17-13

LOL, with two Pick 6s and you only estimate a total of 17 points for you? That made me literally laugh out loud.

Maybe he means that Sherman will intimidate Russell into throwing a couple of pick 6's against the Vikings.

But seriously, if anyone needs any evidence that Sherman was disruptive and had to go, they need to read some of his recent comments. Hawktalk is exactly right, Sherman changed.

I never like Sherm, I got so tired of having to defend Sherm. I pray RW wins a title on his own and tells Sherm to stick it up his arrogant little butt!

I don't think Russ would ever do that. He might think it privately but I doubt he would ever verbalize it to anyone other than maybe Ciara.

Sherman might not give you fits but the SF running game is no joke. look what McCaffery did and double it. Also I have seen in the past the Seahawks making third string QB's look like big time throwers. Believe it or not you guys are going down tomorrow.

Nice to be a Ram nowadays

Sherm is one of those polarizing types where you either love him or hate him.
I respect what he has to say, and I wish he had a bit of a better filter at times, but that's who he is and he wears his heart on his sleeve.
You take the good with the bad sometimes in life and he's an example. I don't think he's trying to be malicious, rather I think he's just
saying how he views things. He's certainly not a cliche machine, and probably diametrically opposed to Wilson in that regard.

Nothing Sherm has said has bothered me much. Either as a Seahawk or now as a Niner.

Me either. I'll always have a fondness for him as a player and a man.

Sorry, he did me. Saying Russell was not a Franchise QB, he is not Black enough, always acting like a baby on the sideline, throwing RW under the bus on the ESPN story, I wont miss him.

Lot of assumptions there Obi. I don't think any of it went quite to that extent. He and Russ were never exactly buddies, but who cares, they don't have to be.

I was Happy to see Russ finally try him there in the third and beat him though! I still like him but he is the enemy now ...

Just a random sampling of the 6 friends of mine, all avid Hawk fans, and the consensus of all of us and the people we ran into (I attended yesterday's game) was that although appreciative of his efforts, no one was sorry to see Sherman go even though he's having a decent year.

However, none of us planned on booing Sherm unless he did something before, during, or after the game to bring it on himself.

Sherman was always one of my favorite Hawks, and I still like him. I just won't cheer for him until he switches jerseys. :-)

I haven't seen what kind of reception he got. I hope it was enthusiastic appreciation. Sure, it ended poorly with Sherman saying a bunch of stuff he shouldn't have, but without him the Seahawks wouldn't have a title and that will always be more important than getting mouthy during a breakup.

They didn't introduce him prior to the game, but he was one of the team captains during the coin toss and got some polite appause. I did hear some faint, random booing. Nothing happened during the game one way or the other that would provide a good gauge of how he was or wasn't appreciated by the faithful. My sense is that most fans view Sherm the same way we've described our feelings towards him.
