I don't mean to toot my own horn but I'm very sure I've got 7th place locked up!

The confidence point values for each game changes, but the competition goes on, including the Super Bowl.

You really need to join, PF.

It looks like you were really killing it...up until 1:00pm on Sunday. :D

If you get behind late in the season, like all but one of us are this season, you have to start picking more upsets. Otherwise, you and the leader pick the same outcomes and there's no way to catch up. But at this point, I'm so far behind that it's almost mathematically impossible for me to catch Cbob so I'll just continue to try to score points and hide my embarrassment. Maybe I can actually win a week.

Cbob has pretty much run away and hid from everyone this season. But wait until next year!

I'm going to view it as a track race or a Indy 500 race where I'm so far behind that I'm just in front of the leader going around the track...

That's a good analogy. Think of the contest as a 21-lap race. Cbob has already lapped everyone several times, but each "lap", ie each week, can be looked at as a contest in itself.

Ha! When the race is over, Bob may have lapped me 21 times but I'm going to be just in front of him (even though I'm only on lap 5) :D

Love the NASCAR analogy!

This week Riv, curmudgeon and I tied at 10-6 straight up while Rive won the Confidence points (he and I tied at 87 but he got me on tiebreakers).

Overall I lead ObS in points 1275 to 1189 and curmudgeon straight up 150-72 to 141-81 (Pickwatch best is 148-74).

Good luck this week!

This week Riv, ID and I tied at 12-4 straight up.

ID edged out Riv in confidence points 115 to 114.

Overall I lead ObS in points 1383 to 1296 and Riv and ObS are tied for second straight up at 148-90 behind my 162-76 (Pickwatch best is 161-77).

Good luck this week, then on to the playoffs!

Woohoo! A solid showing this week is something I can hang my hat on for a few days. You may be laps ahead of me Bob, but I see you nipping at my heels again so I'm gonna do all I can to stay just ahead of being lapped again... :D

You can still join. Refer to the info in the first page of this thread that Cbob left to set up your account.

Phew!!!! I was lucky enough to keep Cbob from lapping me again and now that we are in the playoffs I guess it is more of an even playing field for this portion.

River smoked us on the points this week and I barely squeaked into 2nd place this week.

Yea, but I didn't play very smart. I didn't realize that the Saints already had HFA so I should have assigned a minimum number of points, also should have laid more down on Indy since Mariota was out...did Gabbert look bad or what?

The playoff games are a bit easier to pick, perhaps because more is known about the participants. Additionally, the point total is lower, so fewer opportunities to make up ground.

This year might be different, though. There's good reason to believe in each of the 4 wild card teams. I can't remember a time where the 4 wild card teams were as strong as these 4 are and consequently, how susceptible the top seeds (Saints, Rams, Chiefs, Pats) are.

I knew NO had locked up HFA but I didn't expect them to make Brees and Kamara inactive. I figured they'd play a half and run up the score and then turn it over to their defense. I didn't think they would want those guys going 3 weeks without any meaningful work. I knew that Newton had been shut down and since they were on a 7 game losing streak really didn't see them getting it going again. I think you had 9 points on them and I put 16 which hurt badly on my point total.

Week 17 can be a hard week to predict for sure.

Last week of the Season saw Riv winning the confidence points 117 to ID's 108 while ID won straight up at 12-4 over the rest of us at 11-5.

Overall ObS and Riv tied for second at 159-95 behind my 173-81.

Good luck in the playoffs!

First week of the playoffs was a rough one with nobody breaking 500 ... I got two right while Riv and ObS tied with one each and in confidence points I got 12 to each of their 4.

Overall I'm at 175-83 with Riv and OBS tied at 160-98. Points are 1491 to ObS' 1407.

Good luck this week for those sticking it out!
