Free Agency Wish List

Postby idhawkman » Wed Feb 13, 2019 1:33 pm

Well, I was looking at the top 25 free agents this year and I have a few I'd like to see us sign.

Our list of FAs that we might lose that have impact are:

Frank Clark DE
KJ Wright LB
Earl Thomas III S

Earl has the least impact on the team as he was gone already after what? Game 6?
KJ is next as he missed 11 games but our defense was light years better with him in the lineup
Frank is the biggest loss and I'd really like to see us resign him.

So the ones I want.

Tyranne MAthieu is available at the S position and the S position didn't get much love last time around. We'll see if he's reachable for us or not.
D'marcus Lawrence - I'd love to bring this guy in even if we resign Frank. Both of them would be a nightmare for opposing QBs.

Those are the only two that really piqued my interests. NOTE: If we can't resign KJ I'd really love it if we could bring back Kendrycks. fingers crossed.

Here's a link to the top 25 and I really love what Lawrence says on the top of that article. http://www.nfl.com/news/story/0ap3000001011078/article/top-25-nfl-free-agents-of-2019-defenders-dominate-rankings

Bob Condotta says we will Tag Clark if it comes to it.

Edit:
Of the NFL.com list of players, my hopes would be
Grady Jarrett - disruptive DT. He will probably be re-signed by the Falcons
Anthony Barr - he might be a solid LB to take Wright's place and maybe Pete/Norton could get him back on track.
Brandon Graham - still has something left and could help in the development of Green and Martin

Also, and maybe even more critical is that we resign D.J. Fluker to a long term contract. We need that guy.

And while we're on the offense, if we are dreaming, let's sign Saffold, too.

I'd have a grin from ear to ear if we did that and so would RW and our RBs....

Instead of Sweezy? Count me in for that.

Resigning or tagging Clark is top priority, that's for sure. Not nearly so much for KJ, and Earl? I think he's done.

We have to make a major effort this year to extend Russell. I do not want to be going into his last contract year with a big question mark over the season.
