Any interest in continuing the tradition? Cbob, are you still up for being the manager?

I'm in for both pick 'em & survival! We need more of you for the survival contest. As of now there's only 3 of us.

Looks like we have 5 in the pick-um league. It would be nice to see a couple others sign up. It's an easy format, you can make your picks in as many weeks ahead as you like then modify them as the games approach so you don't forget.

The survival contest is even easier, one pick per week and you can't pick the same team twice during the season.

So after Denver lost Monday night your truly is dead last in the pick'em. Riv leads the points race while RMS lead straight up.

Good luck this week y'all!

This is my 1st season in pick'em & survival. I'm totally enjoying it so far, but the confidence point thing is a little bit annoying. Hoping to rise out of 4th this week.

Yeah, the confidence points thing threw me for a loop in the first season we did this, but Cbob is breaking out the confidence points leader and w/l record leader so there's actually two competitions although they usually end up trending together.

DAMN IT! I’m late to the party. I saw the invite and was going to sign up but got caught up w/work up at the Creek Fire in California. (Well, up for me, down for most of you.) Nasty Fire season, this. Hell, nasty year, this. It felt soooooo good to watch football all day on Sunday. Thank you, Bob. I hate it that I missed it.

You're more than welcome Sis, even if you didn't get in. And yes, I feel more normal now than since the whole covid thing started! It's down right therapeutic to sit though 9 or 10 straight hours of football on a Sunday, even with the empty stands and canned crowd noise!

The football season has had that effect on me, too. Between this pick-em league, my fantasy team, and the Hawks playing well in our opener, it's been a welcome distraction. The no crowds in the stands isn't nearly as bad as I feared. I can certainly detect a difference but the made up noise isn't cheesy like I was afraid it might be.

My big problem now is that I bought a new tablet with the thought that I was going to sit on my deck and be able to watch some football by streaming over it, but the air quality is so bad that we all have to stay indoors.

Riv won the points race this week and continues to lead with 237 points.

I did the best straight up at 14-2 this week but RMS holds the overall lead at 24-8.

Good luck in week 3!

If you haven't already, better double check the confidence points on your Week 4 picks. With the Titans/Steelers postponement, they have reduced the number of available confidence points so the game you assigned 16 points to will be blank.

No update this week, Cbob? Probably best you forgot as I did poorly.

Oops! OK so week 3 update is gonna include the thursday game from week 4 ... deal with it!

RMS now leads both races: the point race over Riv, 310 - 309 and straight up he leads with 34-14 to Halftime's 33-15.

Good luck with the first covid impacted week y'all!

After a week 4 that saw RMS win the points and Vegas win straight up in the pick'em here's how we stand:

Points: RMS and Riv are tied at 394.

Straight up: RMS is 42-20 to lead Riv at 41-21.

Over in the Survival pool (hot tub really, there only 3 of us) Vegas failed to make a pick this week to get his first strike joining Mark who missed on Philly last week, I have no strikes yet.

RMS wins the points and straight nup in week 5 in the Pick'em league. Current standings are:

Points: RMS is ahead of Riv by 12 points with 475.

Straight up: RMS is 53-23 and none of the rest of us have broken 50 correct yet.

In the Survival league Mark's Magnificent Pick Set is eliminated with the Niners loss, Vegas still has one strike strike and I have no strikes yet.

Good luck in week 6!

Hey Riv, hou'd you manage to get all your picks in this week?, you're the only one that managed to do so ... I filled out a complete card when I turned mine in only to find today I'm drawing a blank for the Denver/NE and Miami/Jets games.

I'd like to claim it was due to my superior intelligence, but I don't know. I checked my picks early this morning and made a few adjustments, one of them being to change my selection from NE to Denver.

I assume both those games were rescheduled from their original dates due to the covid protocol?

After a weird week that has Riv showing the rest of us how to navigate this league through the covid changes Riv leads the points with 530 to Half Time's 529 and there is a 3 way tie atop the straight up race with Riv, Half Time and RMS all at 58-32.

It's all over in the Survival league, Vegas got his second strike with the Packers loss so I won with no strikes.

Nice week for Riv, who wins week 7 in both the points (99) and straight up (12-2).

On the year now he owns both races as well with 629 points (24 up on Half Time) and at 70-34 straight up (4 games ahead of RMS).

Nice goin Riv!

This week Half Time won the points (69) and tied for the straight up with Vegas at 8-6.

Despite a poor outing Riv still leads both categories however with 677 points (to Half Time's 674) and a 76-42 mark straight up (Half Time and RMS tied for second at 74-44).

Good luck this week!

On the year now Half Time continues to lead the points with 893 (13 better than RMS in second) while Vegas leads straight up at 105-55, three better than Half Time and RMS tied for second.

Hi Pick'em Managers,

As you may know, COVID has impacted the NFL schedule again this week. We’re sending you this update so that you can adjust your picks based on the latest information from the NFL. Here’s what you need to know right now:

Week 12 schedule changes:

Ravens/Steelers - Moved to Tuesday, December 1
As a result, we have removed the game from this week’s pickset. If your group uses confidence points, those points were adjusted accordingly.

This is a fluid situation - we will keep you updated on any additional changes from the NFL so that you can plan accordingly. You can also follow the latest news, and ensure you have notifications turned on in the Yahoo Fantasy app.

Thank you for your patience.

I'm so confused!

Postby c_hawkbob » Wed Dec 02, 2020 8:05 am

And so seems to be the Yahoo system ... I am unable to enter a pick for Ravens/Cowgirls but see that 2 of you were able to. Nor am I able to enter anything for Stealers/WTF but was able to yesterday morning ... I honestly have no idea how the system is going to deal with those games but whatever it does is just what we're gonna all have to go with.

As for last week, Riv won the points with 96, 9 better than Half Time and myself. Straight up Riv, Half Time and I all tied at 11-4.

On the year Half Time leads with 979 points to Riv's 972. Straight up Half Time leads at 113-62 with RMS in second at 110-165.

They just moved those two games to Monday 12/7 and Tuesday 12/8. Not sure why they show as being on Wed. 12/31 unless the league has designated it as a possible make-up date for canceled games. Perhaps Yahoo hasn't updated them yet. I'd check back again later in the week.

I always make my picks at least a week in advance then adjust them later so I don't forget. I probably entered those picks before they started jacking the schedule around. I entered my Week 14 picks last Monday morning.

Riv swept week 13 with 90 points (over Vegas and I way back at 73) and 11-4 straight up (over Vagas and Half Time with 9-6)

On the season Riv took back the points lead with 1062, with Half Time in second at 1050. Strait up it's Half Time and Vegas tied at 122-68 over Riv at 120-70.

Good luck with week 14!
