These people are here because they hate the Democratic Party, hate what they stand for, hate their rhetoric, and would rather throw their lot in with Donald Trump against anyone against Donald Trump than let the Democrats take control of the nation even with a divided Republican Party with leadership like McConnel clearly stating that election fraud did not occur.
Why does the Democratic Party inspire such hate and fear towards them? I'm really not sure. We've lived with Democratic leadership before and been fine. Seems pretty crazy.
My friend's sister is at that revolt I guess. Boy, do they hate the Democrats.

What I'm wondering about is why weren't the police/secret service better prepared? They should have stopped this throng way before the got to the capitol. You can't tell me that a group this big couldn't or wasn't anticipated.

Trump tapped hate already there. All I hear from these Trump supporters is how much they hate and fear the Democrats.

Most people believed there would be some crazy people doing stupid stuff. With that being said these people need to be stopped and punished to the fullest extent of the law. Also Trump needs to come out and actually denounce this. We can't get to the 20th fast enough. I won't be surprised if there are more 'protests' that turn violent, but I still don't see multiple millions of Americans going to war over this.

Rudy G went further saying "lets have a trial by combat" Prior to that Don Jr got up and gave such an unhinged profane speech the Fox network cut away. Immediately after the president remarks these people headed down pennsylvania Ave for the capital and here we are.
I've said it for weeks. This is sedition. The president should be removed immediately.
There are nationwide protests BTW, nothing like this yet.The longer this goes the better chance there will be.

I'm not doubting you, but I haven't seen any information about other protests besides the one at the Capitol. Where are you getting your information?
wasn't completely right, but he was closer to the mark than I was.

I-5 wrote:You mean like the riot gear clad police that was set up at the US Capitol in preparation for BLM protests? I wonder if it has anything to do with who is doing the protesting.
Impeachment does two things: It disqualifies him from ever holding office again and it would make a powerful, historical statement.
c_hawkbob wrote:I don't think it's absurd at all, I honestly believe if these were BLM protesters there would have been carnage by now.

First of all, this riot isn't over yet. Unfortunately, I expect it to get ugly. My only explanation is that they are trying to avoid a spectacle. Second of all, this has a long ways to go before we get to 100 consecutive days of rioting in dozens of cities like we saw this summer.
