Aseahawkfan wrote:No. Sometimes loyalty to those loyal to you that give you everything is worth something. Russell still performs at a high level. He's given everything to Seattle. He hasn't missed a game. He doesn't bad mouth the team. He represents the community well. He is everything Seattle fans like in a QB. I do not support trading him or anything of the kind. Russell is our QB through the good and bad times. I won't turn on him because we didn't make it out of the divisional round. I hope he retires here.

Wilson for Watson is a bad idea on the face of it but it doesn't matter we couldn't trade him if we wanted to. Other teams asking means nothing, teams put out feelers to other teams all the time.
obiken wrote:I agree river, but why are all these teams inquiring about a trade for Russell Wilson, they have to be smelling a chink in the armor of the Seahawk front office and him.

Watson is not an upgrade from Russ.
Have you ever heard the saying that if you throw enough chit on a wall, some of it is bound to stick? It's like a brainstorming session. No one is allowed to offer any criticism or make any gestures. Every idea gets written down and considered.
I suspect that the Goff-Stafford trade got GM's to thinking outside the box.
That may be, but this story is not dying River. On First things First they were quoting people in Russell's camp that he is getting frustrated at the lack of protection. He is not 25 anymore, and he is not outrunning people. Brandon Marshall was saying that PC is a good coach but he is stubborn has hell, he is refusing to change on offense and defense. Mostly on offense. I dont think he is DW who wants outta Houston, but he is almost done with Pete's intransigence.
RW needs to look at himself and his salary as part of the lack of protection
NorthHawk wrote:The Bucs top 6 players Cap hit equals about $95 million with Brady being the most at $28 million so it's not that bad with Wilson and Wagner. As well, the Bucs MLB Lavonte David will probably get an $8 million added Cap hit since he's one of the better LBs in the league and will expect to be paid like one. The Seahawks Cap hit for the top 6 is about $102 million as a comparison. What that seems to tell us is it's about the quality of the younger players along with cheaper Free Agent pickups that can contribute.
