I don't think he's worth that kind of money. I don't think any football player is worth that kind of money. That's an absurd amount of money to pay someone to play a game. The market for QB's is insane right now. Prescott has shown flashes of brilliance but has also been inconsistent. There's another one that needs a better O Line and a consistently productive running game in order to excel.

And he's roughly half the QB Russ is.

Plus he's coming off an extremely serious injury. Even if he makes a complete physical recovery, an injury like that could get inside his head and affect his style of play. Especially considering that the Cowboys had a lot of options, this is a very risky move. I guess there's a reason why Jerry Jones hasn't won a championship in the last quarter decade.

But on the flip side, it eliminates one of Russell's potential landing spots.

The Cowboys are really paying their Offensive players, but I'm not sure their Defensive players are being adequately addressed.
I'm not sure how they can pay the highest paid QB, top 2 or 3 paid RB, LT, LG, RT, and one of the higher paid WR in Cooper. They're either going to be cutting players or seriously restructuring contracts.
Maybe Jerry knows how much the Cap will increase after the new contracts with TV and gaming revenues are decided or at least he gambling that there will be a huge increase.

Don't care whether you agree or not Obi, I'm standing by it till Dak proves he can at least win consistently in the playoffs.

It certainly is a lot of money for a player that has only been on team that's won 1 playoff game.
I guess they see how bad it was when he was injured and thought we have to have him, but to make a player who hasn't accomplished much yet the highest paid is a big statement as to how much they value him,
or a huge mistake. Time will tell.

And coming off a very serious injury, one that considering his style of play, could have an even more significant effect on his performance. Toss in the fact that the salary cap has shrunk this year and the number of starting quarterbacks that are available for much less and it makes the signing even more bizarre. Only in Jerry World.
