What i can say with 100% confidence is that we have the best secondary in NFL history.
Sign another big DL that wants to take less money on the FA market to win a ring and we just might have the best defense in history.

That defense has to rank right up there with the 1985 Bears and the 2000 Ravens for the modern day and comparable to Pittsburgh's Steel Curtain, Miami's No Name Defense, and Minnesota's Purple People Eaters for pre-1980's. Without a doubt the best in a decade.

The '85 Bears and '00 Ravens were one hit wonders, and IMO we're already their equals. What will or won't separate us from them is if we are able to bring home another Lombardi, something they didn't do. Getting to the Steel Curtain/No Names, et al standard is going to be extremely difficult in today's age of free agency and the salary cap and will require two or three more Lombardi's over the next 5-6 years. The challenge will be in keeping our core intact while finding adequate replacements for those we can't keep and do it while picking the fruit from the bottom rung on the ladder.

People are just lining up around the block to get at this guy, ha.
In his defense, somewhere in another thread (game one?) he did say we'd win by 10 or so.
Anyway, it is what it is.
I'm just happy we're Super Bowl Champions!!!

That was my re: to you on SB Sunday, almost verbatim. I do not believe my post was illogical prior to that though, as they had given up an average of 350 yds and 16 pts per game in the postseason, and you were comparing them to the 2000 Ravens who gave up 200 yds per game and didn't surrender a single TD in 4 postseason games. I, like most people, felt the Broncos would put up some points. We were all wrong.
The score I predicted on this board preceding the SB was Hawks 36 Broncos 21. I am not nostradomus lol. The "Peyton will be a nightmare" comment was predicated on Seattle O going 3 and out consistently, which as I posted I did not believe would happen. Turns out Seattle O held the ball for 12 min in the 1st qtr. But even if that hadn't happened, I still would have been wrong. That was one of the great D performances in SB history, for sure.

I know, and I responded in that thread, and appreciated the olive branch you extended. Not a lot of people believed it would end up like that ( i predicted 33-24 with a garbage TD from Denver) so while I was confident it would be a comfortable win, I was not expecting a rape either.
One of the things I found telling about the game, and just how deep these Seahawks are/were was that MANY backups got not just a little time on ST and such, but significant minutes early in the game, guys I hadn't seen on the field in months were out there when the game was still close. It surprised me to be honest.
