Miles Garrett

Now that Miles Garrett is requesting a trade I'd give my blessing to trading DK (and whatever else it takes).

Not that he'd be surer of a SB here than in Cleveland ...

Interesting, before this popped up I was thinking the Hawks should look to move DK and get Max Crosby, if they couldn't work out a deal with DK of course. However, this is intriguing. I think Garrett is fully aware a team like the Browns will never be SB bound with their off the wall organizational decision making. It will be another 3 years before they can recover from their Deshaun Watson debacle of a contract.

Me, too. Garrett has averaged 15 sacks over the past 4 seasons. But they're not going to trade him straight across for Metcalf. We'd have to toss in at least a 2nd day pick IMO.

Be nice to pick up a great DE. Why would Cleveland trade him? That would be dumb...oh wait,...Cleveland...dumb...factory of sadness. They might do it.

They don't want to trade him, he wants out.

Usually the worst teams have a lot of Cap room and he's going to take up a big chunk of it, but the Commanders have the 3rd most room at about $82 Million so if he ended up there they could be very tough to beat.

Wow. 30 years old and getting $100M guaranteed over 6 years according to Spotrac.
Will he have 4 exceptional years left or will he decline to average in 3? It just seems like a lot for an older players on a team that's not looking like it will compete any time soon.

Edit:
ProfootballRumors says the contract has $123M guaranteed.

We just re-signed Jarran Reed to a 3 year $25M extension.

Smart move. At 32, he should still have a little tread on the tires. Reed is solid, and his veteran presence should help Byron Murphy and whoever else we might bring in. And his salary isn't going to break the bank.

I was thinking the same thing. A veteran presence can help smooth out some of the troubles that younger players fall prey to and keep their heads in the right place.
