I hope he is right about Sweezy and Carpenter; improved guard play could give Lynch more room to work with and we all know we need better pass pro on the interior.

I particularly like the battle at right tackle. Glowing reports seldom survive kickoff, but it is good to hear that Britt is coming in on a mission. I wouldn't mind one more feather in the front office's cap for draft acumen and have Britt succeed right away. Also glad to hear Bowie is being pushed; he and Bailey both have been mentioned for needing to get their weight down, so I hope competition gets them motivated.

Always have to be careful of traps when reports come out about young players but certain things about Britt have me cautiously optimistic is that people have been very high on his tenacity and footwork. If he has good technique already and a motor that's a good sign.

I am right there with you, kalibane. We are hearing good reports about Sweezy, Britt, Michael, Richardson, Norwood, Toomer, and Simon. It is exactly what you would want to hear about the up-and-comers, but you just don't know what you have until they suit up against competition. Out of the above mentioned, Sweezy has had significant PT, so perhaps I shouldn't have included him, but he is still 3rd year man converted from DT to OG. If, and I emphasize "if", it all comes together for these guys, it will silence the haters and doubters who claim we aren't as deep as we were last year. I'm looking forward to preseason.

We hear this kind of thing at this time of year every year, but I hope it's true.
I'm going to wait until the end of Pre-Season before commenting further.

Anyone hear about how Okung is doing in his recovery from his toe injury?
He being healthy all year would be a big bonus for the OL.

You always have to be careful of traps of ANY reports coming out of camp. It's like evaluating a baseball player based on a batting practice session in the hitting cage.
