Golden Tate, say it ain't so... Vicious rumour

Postby Seahawks4Ever » Fri Jun 27, 2014 9:34 pm

I clicked on a story about Russell Wilson where he says that this years Seahawks are way ahead of last years version. That story was great but in the corner was another story that said "Golden Tate denies sleeping with Russell Wilson's wife". Now, I hate vicious rumors put out just to make trouble and my first thought is that this ugly rumor was put out by a fan of the 49ners. or some other Seahawk/Wilson hater. I read the article trying not to throw up and I came away with the impression that GT was right when he said that he and Russell are as tight as ever and the his significant other and Russell's so to be Ex have also been close friends.

After I read the article I read the comments section where 99% of those who comments said that what ever happened it was none of anyone else's business and/or that it was just a vicious rumor perpetrated by someone who wants the Seahawks. Wilson to fail.

Then, there was that one comment that made me take pause, it was the one the essentially said that for all of Tate's claiming the story was false that he never did actually deny that it happened. I went back and reread the story and sure enough Tate never denied that he had slept with Wilson's wife. That of course could have been clever editing by the writer of the story.

Anyhow, I know it isn't anybody else's business but Russell and his wife what ever happened between them. Until Russell or his wife actually confirms this story I will refuse to believe that it happened and chalk it up to just how far some scum bags will go to hurt someone for the sick idea of getting some kind of competitive edge on a team that their team can't defeat on the field.

I just noticed that this story came out in April and has had ZERO legs. With more than 37K views only 4 people decided it was worth it to comment. I guess I should have left this alone but it had the look of a desperate 49ner. or Rams fan.

Wide receiver Golden Tate has a new home with the Detroit Lions, but some rumors about his time in Seattle are still lingering. I haven’t been reporting on the rumors myself as of yet because you never know what’s true when it comes to this kind of stuff.

Tate himself however took to Twitter last night to address the rumors that he slept with Russell Wilson‘s wife Ashton, which supposedly was a contributing factor in their divorce.

I know I'll get shot down for this, and it's 100% speculation, but the time Line makes a lot of sense. Who knows the truth?....right now that could be two or three people and maybe the lawyers.

I thought it was odd that RW filed against her. That's pretty rare territory and from the pics of Russell this summer (like the ones at the ring ceremony) he sure doesn't seem to mind some very pretty company checking out the bling.

Now, I don't see him as Johnny Football #2, but he's got a lot going for him right now. That's a pretty automatic score.

This rumor was discussed before Tate's departure and is one of the reasons some fans felt like Seattle underwhelmed him. Whether true or not, really doesn't matter much now. Wilson is on about his life as is Tate and the former Mrs. Wilson, why they divorced is the furthest thing from my mind personally, and whether that had anything to do with Tate, or what Wilson or his wife did, is really something I don't feel the slightest interest in knowing.

Most Niner fans (or normal people in genera) do not care who is sleeping with who. Have not heard or spoken with ine Niner fan that ever wanted to delve into RW's life. I guess it only takes 1 though.

Old news guys. It was discussed briefly at the time and I was actually proud of the forum for accepting it as a probable explanation of things and letting it go in difference to Russell's wishes that he left private matters to be dealt with privately during what he described as "difficult" times. I guess it's been a while now though ...

I love our QB but hes a workaholic as an NFL player. And he also does a bunch of stuff on the side that takes up even more of his time, charity, football camp, attending spring training with the Rangers etc.. I'm not saying the Tate rumor is true but when your motto is no time to sleep its tough on the lady to just be supposed to sit around and be pretty and eat the scraps that fall off the table attention wise. Whatever happened or didn't happen it seemed weird to me that Tate was absolutely low balled out of town. Also that Wilson with whom he had previously been thick as thieves didn't say one word in support of keeping him around, nor much commentary pro or con on his departure.

IMO if it quacks like a duck and walks like a duck its a duck.

Yeah, I heard about this quite a while ago, and honestly just didn't want to talk about it. My personal take is it very well may have happened, and this would explain why Wilson was the one to file for divorce. This subject is ugly and quite personal. Many here have gone through the big "D" and my best friend is just now coming through the other side of a very bitter break up. Details are horrible and I feel for my buddy as his wife was cheating on him. Some things are just better left unsaid.

This is the first time I had heard this rumor, and the timeline does kinda match up and it was Wilson who filed against her so I dont see any reason why it should automatically be taken as false. However, whats done is done and we might never find out the reason for the divorce.

We don't need to find out the reason, it's not our business.

If something affects his play on the field. I want to know it. If it doesn't then, I'm fine with that.

I hope this does not screw with his head. Whatever really happened, which is none of my business.

Trouble is, none of what you said before hand looks or quacks like a duck. It's just pure WILD speculation with not one shred of anything resembling evidence.

His being a "workaholic" as you put it does NOT necessarily equate to an unhappy wife...it certainly doesn't equate to a wife that is willing to break marital vows which she strongly believes in.
BTW, just because Wilson keeps himself busy, and works hard, that does NOT mean that he's a "workaholic". I'd be willing to bet that from his perspective, we're all just lazy, or at least, weren't raised to think of hard work the same way he was, and as a consequence, will never experience the same degree of success he has.

We have no idea whatsoever what happened to sour their marriage, and it's none of our business; and I certainly don't see or hear any ducks!
