Matchup: Seahawks vs Cowboys

Postby #37 » Sat Oct 11, 2014 4:24 pm

Running game, meets rush defense... Which one will give? Can the Seattle "D" line nullify DeMarco Murray, and pressure Romo into his vapor-locked mindset? Can the LOB keep Bryant in check? I think for the most part, yes. Other keys to the Hawk's success: Minimize our penalties, get those turnovers, make the 3rd down conversions while forcing the Cowboys to punt. I suspect the Hawks will keep the Cowboys guessing, but expect a hard fight... (Seahawks 31 - 24 Cowboys)

Romo is either on or off, any given day. I'm hoping our line will hold Murray. We have a 4-1 team vs. a 4-1 team, this won't be an easy win. Hawks 31/ Pokes 27.

This game is set up much better than I would've thought at the beginning of the season, since Dallas has people - er media - believing in them again.

But cold, hard reality smacks the Cowboys in the face tomorrow.

Seattle, 31-17.

And it really won't even be that close.

The Seahawks have beaten Aaron Rodgers and Peyton Manning, so Tony Romo scares nobody.

Murray will not be able to run, and I think the LOB is not going to give up the hail mary passes that they did last time on MNF.

I'm glad about the hoopla surrounding these guys, because if they came in limping at 1-4 or 2-3, then this could be a potential trap game.

Instead, they'll go home limping because the Seahawks are going to pound them into the turf.

Dallas knows what they are facing and their possible loss. I was surprised to see the Cowboys posted this article and video on their website... http://www.dallascowboys.com/news/artic ... ee42f61dfc That being said the Hawks need to give it their best. No dog fights harder than when it is cornered....

As I understand we go from Triplette, (the absolute worst ref in the history of sports! SERIOUSLY!) to the idiot who called our Superbowl 40 loss...great.

BTW for those who may be tempted to believe that the Cowboys run success is mostly a product of Demarco Murray, think again. That Boys o-line is getting the best run blocking push of ANY line in football. Yards before contact, that line is imposing their will on defenses.
In other words, this WILL be a test.

HAving said that, the Dallas defense is about to face the new improved version of the "triplets" as they get the not enviable task of figuring out whether to try to stop Lynch, Harvin or WIlson...good luck with that!

It will probably be our offense more than our defense that wins this game, by quite a bit.
I predict Seattle 41 Dallas 17

Leavys crew has thrown less hankies than any other crew so far. Of course that means absolutely nothing today. Jones sucked up to Goody a couple weeks ago with a vocal show of support and there's a quid pro quo expected. Today is the day Cowboys will get treated like the home team by the officials. Hawks will have to beat the refs too. But they have been doing it for 2 successful seasons and so far so good in the 3rd. Romo will F up. Murray will take himself out of the game like Knowshon Moreno in the Super bowl. Dez will make things interesting. But the Cowboys heroically beat the Texans at home in overtime facing Ryan frigging Fitzgerald at QB, which will not be the situation today. Maybe Dallas should worry about RW making them look foolish and Harvin and beast mode etc jamming it in their face. This team has Seattle's full attention and its going to be Hawks 24-17 in spite of some biased officiating..

Key to this game, for me, is Dez Bryant (who lines up on the offense's left most of the time) vs. Maxwell. We've seen teams pick on Maxwell, more because of avoiding Sherman than Maxwell being poor, and we know that Romo loves going to Bryant, who is playing really well right now. If Quinn can't figure out a way to get regular help to Maxwell without handicapping the rest of the defense, the Hawks are going to have a long day because the Cowboys will sustain long drives and the Hawks' offense will have a harder time getting into a rhythm.

I still think the Hawks win, but if the Cowboys are going to win, I think it's because Bryant puts up crazy yards rather than because of their running game.

Leavy is the absolute BEST ref. the Seahawks could have calling the game. To this day he feels guilty for what he did to us in XL that he bends over backwards to be fair to our Hawks so I am glad to hear that it is Leavy and his crew calling the game.

Now, about the game; When the schedule first was announced I quickly chalked this match-up as a Seahawk win. I mean, their defense had lost some key players and their offense was up and down.

Then they surprised everybody and have come out of the gate like gang busters. Our defense is the one banged up. KC is hurt and I kind of wish he had had his ankle repaired in the off season the way a few other players had clean-up surgeries. Now here we are right in the middle of the season up we might not have KC for a significant amount of time and our DB unit is already very depleted.

While statistically our defense is the best against the run they will be tested today. The Cowboy RB will be hard to bring down much like our opponents have a hard time bringing down Lynch.

As much as I love to take pokes at Tony Romo he does have the ability to pick a defense apart when he has time to throw and the Cowboy O-Line (with 3 #1 picks) has really been both run AND pass blocking really well this year where in the past they had not done that too well.

With Kam being out or at best slowed down our D-Line will have to put pressure on Romo and I am not sure our D-Line is up to the task. Pressure is one ting, getting hits or sacking Romo is quite another.

I believe this game is going to be a high scoring shoot out and which ever team scores last will be the one that wins. That of course will be our Seahawks, BUT if this game was being played on the road I believe the win would go to the Cowboys.

It will be great that CPR won't be posting in the Shack because there would be no shutting him up should the Cowboys pull off the upset.
