Pet Us, or Pet Rock

Postby Bird Droppings » Mon Oct 20, 2014 3:37 pm

Boise State grad WR Austin Pettis is 6'3" and can catch the ball and returns punts and kickoffs.

He was released today by the Rams, after sitting out the game against the Hawks.

In Ramland "he never quite fit in".

And the Rams have been busy at WR with T. Austin, S. Bailey, Quck, Givens, and added K. Britt and TE Jared Cook ...
and are getting a ground game in gear as you may have noticed Sunday.

For some reason that receiving corps looks stronger than that of the Hawks.

Tick, tick, tick ....

BD,

Good catch! Agree this is worth a shot. I like Walters, but he makes me nervous. If we don't go get anyone, then I think we keep Walters on punts and put Baldwin back for the kick returns. But I like the thought of grabbing Pettis for one or both.

GO SEAHAWKS!!!

From a talent/positional perspective, he could help, but his attitude was apparently why he was cut with being late for a meeting the last straw. Would he really help considering we just got rid of a reported locker room distraction?

Well on the bright side, I doubt he would think that would work here considering we just dumped one of the most explosive players in the league because of it. It isn't much of a risk, bring him in, at the first sign of anything of that nature, he's out the door.

I'll put him on my watch list. We do need an upgrade over Walters on special teams, although as long as he doesn't turn the ball over, I can live with him. I notice that we have Walters returning kickoffs, too.

Our WR corps is very thin on experience, and one of those rookies, Richardson and/or Norwood, is going to have to rise to the occasion. So far, Richardson has caught everything close enough for him to touch. One of the raps on him was that he sometimes loses concentration, and at least to this point, I haven't seen it.

Nice to see you again, SBB! I hope you're here for more than a cup of coffee.
