Andre Johnson

This rumor first appeared in the offseason when Johnson made ML like waves over his contract. Its pure speculation at this point about a possible fit that may make sense for both organizations (Pete would love a big receiver). Here in Houston, I am rooting that the Texans lose to the Titans this weekend to rob realistic hope for the Texans this season. Then the rumors might find legs

Always iffy on mid season acquisitions of receivers, it tends to take them longer to learn the system than is worth it. No way is Seattle looking to pay Johnsons salary next season ( or Jackson for that matter) so I just don't see a real value in it.

This type of trade would actually make some sense for both teams (depending on what the actual offer would be obviously) in that DeAndre Hopkins has probably surpassed Johnson as the teams #1, while his salary is beginning to pinch a bit.
Even though he's not quite the WR he was three years ago, he would still be a HUGER help here, and would fit better than Harvin ever did.

My only problem with it would be that, I really want to see what our rookies can do when given the chance. I'm super excited for both of them. Adding a high salary WR who would need the ball, in an offense that works best when the ball gets spread around quite a bit, may not help as much as we would think, especially long term.
But it's definitely something the Seahawks would HAVE to look hard at.

I think the Harvin deal might have tied our hands regarding taking on the larger salaries of available players.
It does make sense from a personnel perspective, though.
If they were to do this, what would we give up in return?

Branch, Whoseyourmamma, Harvin.... Pulease not if we have to give up our future. We need to draft FAT & cannot do that if we trade away our future on an oft injured aging talent. He is tempting, but.... My .02
